Blue Ray Doesn't Play
on July 2, 2010

I've tried playing this on four different Blue Ray players, and it only worked on one of them.
The good thing is that it comes with a DVD too, so I still got to watch it, even if not in Blu Ray. It also comes with a downloadable version for your computer which is nice. Essentially, I got the downloadable copy, then gave away the DVD to my brother and the Blue Ray version to my Dad.
I've been reading more and more about Blu Ray compatiblility problems and I think someone seriously needs to address it. If the BlueRay doesn't work, you're stuck with it. Sorry, I don't have $30 bucks to just toss into the trash can, guys.
Now, as far as the actual movie goes: the plot is decent. Love Matt Damon as an actor. Greg Kinnear was a good opponent. The cinematography was horrible. Not worth blue ray. Many scenes were shot with a handheld - shaky and grainy. Not a good thing for blue ray watchers, IMO. There you have it.
What's great about it: Matt Damon's acting
What's not so great: Blue Ray is incompatible; Shaky and grainy shots are not ideal for BR.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yes. The firm was up to date. It was a brand new player. I think it has to do with the interactive features of the blue-ray. None of the other blue rays I've ever bought had interactivity and they all work just fine.
Like I said, we tried it on about 10 different players and it only worked on 4 of them, so it wasn't just mine.
The good thing is, you get a DVD version with it, plus a downloadable. I think they did that on purpose, knowing that they were working with some special technology on the blue ray side.
