A great value purchase, regardless of one's preconceived notions. If you like or love Metallica unconditionally, then you already own this. If you prefer their first 4, and possibly their last one, "Death Magnetic", then there's some meat on the bone for you with opener/title track "Hardwired", "Moth Into Flame", and the disc 2 album closer "Spit Out The Bone". It rekindles bits and pieces of "Kill 'Em All", "Metallica"(the 'black' album), and the aforementioned "Death Magnetic" more than the rest of their catalog, and is, pound for pound, a METAL sounding Metallica record. The bonus 3rd disc of cover songs and a live record store performance of mostly oldies, makes it a solid package worthy of inclusion into every open-minded metalhead's collection.
Rush fans need no introduction to this classic album. Even if you already have a previous version of "2112", don't let that stop you from adding this to your collection. And for the less indoctrinated, if you're not just window shopping, and have yet to add this to your playlist, now's as good a time as any. "2112" sounds just as epic and classic as ever, and the full package offered makes it a great pickup for any Rush fan, or progressive hard rock fan. Don't miss out on this BB exclusive.
Continuing the feel of their previous album ("Phantom Antichrist"), Kreator expands upon that with "Gods Of Violence". A solid metal release, offering up the doses of thrash Kreator is known for, along with improved songwriting that emphasizes diverse harmonies and melodies. Not necessarily directed at the commercial metal masses, but certainly appealing enough to entertain and win over more than just the underground or extreme crowd. A must have for any true metal fan.
