Nice features but ok sound quality

To start I think the clearance price is a really good deal. I ultimately returned the receiver because I felt the sound was average at best.
I used to have an Onkyo 606 which I really liked . I thought I'd give this a try based on the feature set and my past experience with the brand.
Once set up it updated FW and ran the auto eq. It measured the size of speakers correctly but distances were off by quite a bit. Manually adjusted and started to listen.
As others have stated you really don't hear sound until volume is at 35. What really sealed the deal to return is I was listening to Pandora, a very familiar song was on. It played a part with some detail to it. I actually looked to see if my speakers were hooked up correctly. The nuance and detail were missing .
Returned for a Sony Strdn1080 and the detail is back as well as more control in the bass department .
In the end, great features let down by average sound.

I won't go over everything again that's been written about this set. I do know that for under $200 on sale this tv is a no brainer.
I use in my workout area for videos. I also have a computer hooked to it and it really looks good.
I like the Roku, does exactly what I need. I have higher end sets and right now it's my favorite just because it's so much value for the money.

For the price, really there aren't many things wrong.
The few things I can think of are the location of the controls interfere when in landscape mode and the speakers are pretty poor with low volume capability. Tends to get warm in the upper right side in portrait mode as appoint of reference.
Now what's great- the Screen is to die for. Blacks are black and colors look awesome. I regret that I didn't get the larger screen. Speed is good with little lag. Latest version of Android is nice. Battery life is decent.

I have had the set for a little over a month now and it's the closest thing to my Plasma I've seen short of OLED.
I initially got the go ahead from the wife to get a new set and started off with a Sony 850C. This was before the P Series was announced. Bad choice, returned for a Samsung JS8500. This set was $500 more at the time and when I received it the P was announced. Liked it but there was some light bleeding on the edges and the guy at BB was very helpful. We set up a swap for the P.
This is where the Full array comes in on the Vizio. In a word, EXCELLENT. No bleeding or blooming at all. Blacks are great. If you go to Rtings.com they rate this on par with the new 2016 Samsung's that are significantly more expensive than the Vizio. Think about that for a moment and then decide if the name is worth it to you. Nice sets to be sure, better looking aesthetically and they have a built in tuner, which to me is a non issue in this day and age of cable.
As others have stated , it has Dolby Vision with an HDR update not too far off .
