Very difficult to get a good sound

It's not easy to get a great sound from this stereo. It has several audio presets and I was constantly changing them trying to get the best sound. It can get very loud so it's got that going for it. Also the bass could be a little louder. It has a bass boost but it does not make it much louder. I had a Sony stereo before this one and I wish I would have gone with Sony again.

can the speakers be place at a distance away from the stereo appox 10-12 ft
No, I would say about 6 ft is as far as you can go.
