Excellent but expensive

The only reason I finally ponied up the cash for this was to take full advantage of out gigabit internet. With mid tier access points I was getting a pretty weak signal at the corners of my house. And since I didn't want to have multiple access points, I went with the most powerful single unit I could find. This certainly did the trick. Very powerful compared to the 3 mid tier ones I tried before it. Real world speeds on my Note 5 are about 400 Mbps on 5 GHz and 90 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. I'll update if anything negative creeps up but for now A+.

It's not perfect and I wouldn't use it as my #1 streaming choice. Some problems include glitches with the casting, unable to connect (Samsung Note 5), and cropping of the image due to super sampling with no options to adjust. For $70 I expect better.

If my time warner modem is the modem/router combo, would I use the 9500 as a range extender and turn off the wifi to the current router? I also have a secure banking router connected to it as well, would I leave that connected to the original router?
You can leave the other wifi antennas on if you'd prefer but that's probably just going to cause unwanted interference. I have the same setup where my Google Fiber modem has the wifi access point built in. For a while I used both and connected some to the old.and some to the Linksys, but now I just turned off the old alltogether and have everything going through Linksys. It handles multiple devices VERY well. We have had 2 computers, 3 cell phones, 2 tablets and a PS3 running concurrently with no issues. I would move the secure router to the Linksys as well just to simplify your life, but my guess is that won't matter too much either way.

Can anyone recommend the best ethernet cable (possibly send a link or manufacturer name and model) I should use to run approximately 100 feet between my modem and this router? Thanks!
Cat 5e has a range of over 300 feet with a capacity of 1,000 Mbps and is reasonably priced. Cat 6 has about the same range but with a capacity of 10,000 Mbps. So you'd probably be fine with 5e but if you get a good price on 6 it would be more "future proof" (I hate that term but you know what I mean ;) )
Honestly I'd get the 5e unless you think you'll be needing 1,000+ Mbps transfer speeds locally (file transfers from computer to computer, computer to local server, phone to computer, etc.) because ISPs probably won't be offering internet speeds of more than 1,000 Mbps service anytime soon.

Will this make your internet faster? Or will it just make it so there is connection farther away?
It will probably outperform your current router in both speed and range. However your internet MAXIMUM is as fast as the service your purchase from your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
For example if you have a basic router and 50 Mbps service from your ISP, you might get about 30 Mbps and 3 bars of strength from your current setup. This router is capable of 1000+ Mbps so it has more capacity than you're purchasing through your ISP and you would see the MAXIMUM allowed by your ISP which is 50 Mbps. It is also a very strong router so the connection will probably jump to 4 or 5 bars.
Honestly this router is probably overkill unless you're subscribing to 100+ Mbps service from your ISP. We have 1,000 Mbps service and this thing flies. I'm currently getting 100 Mbps on 2.4 Ghz and 400 Mbps on both 5 GHz bands, so between the 3 devices connected it's pumping out 900 Mbps and works flawlessly.

I have 1 gigabit internet fiber through Grande, will this work with them? I was told that I can turn off the wifi on said modem they supply and use this router. Is this true?
Yes to all your questions. The numbers are a little misleading but you should get about 100 mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and about 400 mbps on both of the 5 GHz bands. So if you have 3 devices connected (1 on 2.4 GHz and 2 on each of the 5 GHz) you will get a total throughput of about 900 mbps. Considering your internet max is 1,000 mbps (1 Gbps), this is the perfect router for you! These are all real world usage numbers that I get with this router and I too have 1 Gbps fiber.
As to the question of using both routers or turning off the other one, yes you can do either. For me I actually leave both routers turned on and connect our computers to the Linksys and our phones to the other slower one. But I'd suggest just connecting everything to this router because it does an excellent job of directing traffic between multiple devices all at the same time.
Overall I think the premium cost for this router is absolutely worth it for anyone with Gigabit service. Hope this helps!
