Coolest, most unique film I've ever seen!

I drove 2 hours out of my way to be able to see this movie in theaters and it was AMAZING! I ordered the blu-ray for the additional stuff that doesnt come on the dvd special features, plus I'm sure the picture/sound for a movie with this kind of imagery will be stunning on blu-ray. The commentaries are good and the making of featurettes are pretty stadard fare... I wanna see the deleted scenes though, and they only come on the blu-ray version.
The cast is great (even Paris Hilton) and the music is AWESOME. the overall feel of the movie comes across very well. It's very futuristic without being TOO futuristic. The story is very unique and very well acted/directed. Darren Lynn Bousman (of the SAW sequels) does an amazing job of visualizing everything. The end product of this movie is astonishing considering they had a budget that could barely buy shoestrings!
I recommend this movie to anyone who likes movies that are different... but not if you don't like singing. Every word of this movie is sung... because, hey... it's an OPERA!
What's great about it: acting, singing, plot... ANTHONY STEWART HEAD
What's not so great: sometimes (rarely) hard to understand since everything is sung...

Joss Whedon attempted to follow up his successful series Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the science fiction-themed Firefly. Although the series failed to garner a mass audience, it did have a loyal following. Those fans will be pleased by this box set that contains every episode of the series that aired, as well as three never-before-seen episodes. All 15 episodes are presented in anamorphic widescreen. English, French, and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Commentaries are available on four of the episodes. Production featurettes, a blooper reel, and a tour of the set with Whedon round out this solid package that should be of interest to genre enthusiasts as well as Whedon's fans.

Greatest television show known to mankind...

I am not a fan of science fiction... I would go so far as to say that I sincerely HATE most of it. Firefly is different. From the first time I watched an episode, I was hooked. Everything about this show is different and compelling to watch. There's action, comedy, romance, suspense, drama and every other genre title under the sun. Everything meshes so well that it's hard not to get sucked in. You come to care so much about the characters that it's nearly heartbreaking to know that it's the only season that will ever be.
Check out Serenity for a little closure...
What's great about it: Acting, stories, writing, directing, effects, characters, plot... EVERYTHING
What's not so great: Being cancelled so early...

Amazing film!

This film, in every last detail, is perfect! The mood definitely follows the story. Nothing flashy or over the top in any way. Black and white cinematography create the overwhelming melancholy that was Ian Curtis' life. Despite all of the fame and popularity that would bring anyone else to the high-point of existence, Ian Curtis' battles with epilepsy and romance led to his untimely death at age 23. Sam Riley is downright freaky as Ian Curtis, perfecting every note and strange onstage move that Curtis was known for. I cannot say this with enough gusto... SEE THIS MOVIE! Fans will be in heaven and hopefully it will bring a few more to the joy (no pun intended) that is Joy Division!
What's great about it: Great acting, writing and cinematography. The director's photography background shines through in this film!
What's not so great: None whatsoever!
