A good time...

I'll tell you.. The plot may not be the plot of the century but I enjoyed the hell out of this movie,,, Once it started, WOW, it never stopped, the humor was fun, the action was fantastic, & the bad guy was a Lex Luther type character that you enjoyed hating... Therefore, even if its not going to win any awards I do give it YES for entertainment in its own right. This is a movie that a group of friends could hang out & watch. A movie where everyone comments, laughs, make up extra dilalogue, & throw popcorn at the screen when the bad guy shows up... In a nut shell... "I had fun! & isn't that what it's all about..."
What's great about it: The Entertainment value..
I would recommend this to a friend!

Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis are bitter rivals in director Blake Edwards' hilarious road comedy The Great Race. Warner's work on this 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer is stunning. With rich textures and dark black levels, this transfer appears to be a stunningly great reproduction of the original print. While a few slight instances of dirt and edge enhancement abound, overall this is a very pleasing image that will surely please fans. The soundtrack is presented in a newly remixed Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround mix in English. While the film's age means a lack of directional effects, overall this new soundtrack is a very welcome addition to the disc. No excessive distortion or hiss is heard in any of the dialogue, music, or effects. Also included on this disc is a French Dolby Mono soundtrack, as well as Spanish, English, French, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Portuguese subtitles. The extra features on The Great Race are small but entertaining -- included on this disc is a very funny and strange "behind-the-scenes" documentary from the 1960s (which features a hearty voice-over actor commenting on what's going on), some cast and crew highlights, and an anamorphic widescreen theatrical trailer for the film.

The adventure is fun... the story is exciting.... the story moves along making you want more... I first watched this film when I was a little girl & every year after I was so excited about seeing it again... We always watched it as a family.. My brother, sister, & I would lay in the floor actually mesmerized by what was going on in the movie... It's a long movie but it's worth every minute. I find myself craving to see this movie again & again... another good one for the family is 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World' & 'Man's Favorite Sport'. Don't read the synopis if you haven't seen the movie.. It's a spoiler...
What's great about it: The adventure is exciting & fun
What's not so great: All good
