That, in my book, makes the company a keeper.
The TV itself is amazing, and gets updates all the time. You can tell the software isn't 5-star stuff, but they try.
The remote is getting updated soon enough, maybe for this/next year's models, but for now if you have this TV you get the awful non-functional dumb remote plus a neat 1080p Android tablet that acts as a remote instead.
the Android app review should be left separate from this review, but they fix things all the time.
If you go to Rtings you can find more numerical reviews which say a lot of what I could, so I'll instead give smaller pointers.
1. The 50", 65", and 75" models have VA panels (great color, meh viewing angles), while the 55" has an IPS panel (good color, great viewing angles).
2. If you're gaming get 55" or above, as the display lag is cut in half if you can feed it a 120Hz signal.

Tiny drive that holds tons of data. Has USB-C (a plus in my world). Does *not* connect to regular phones, or at least not any that fit the definition of regular from about 2015-2018 (bit of a future stretch here).
Gets hot if you transfer tons of data, make sure you put it in a spot with lots of airflow.

Not a high-quality player by any means, it does its job and not much else.
You can control it from an AVR, if you have one, it has some internet-enabled stuff, but really it's underpowered for what it tries to do. It takes forever to do anything on it.
Really I bought it because it was cheap and the UHD Blu-ray players are still over $200. It was what, $60 when I bought it? About the price of a couple movies. Sounds about right.
If you can swing the cash buy something a little bit more powerful (not just rebranded hardware with updated firmware, but actual quality)

This mouse (Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum) is a very good mouse for FPS gamers out there, especially those with voice comms. It's a bit on the bulky side, but fits in the hand well enough to not matter.
I play a game called Squad, which has and requires 3 layers of voice chat (Local, squad, and team). I bound them to three of the thumb buttons and everything is fine. Much faster than stretching to reach the V, B, and G keys. I bound the two index finger buttons to map and map zoom, and that takes care of driving.
I'll have to say that side scroll (it's a 4-way wheel) isn't useful to me, but the free scroll is a wonderful feature for long web pages. Press a button and it disengages the ratchet, and the wheel can fly on inertia for 20+ pages of text.
I've never used the weights.
The software sucks. Logitech has no sense of urgency to update their gaming mouse application for high-DPI screens, so if you're on 4k you'll need to use Windows Creators Update shenanigans to make the app legible on your screen.
