Great Beginner Telescope

This telescope did not take long to set up. I've read some reviews that said otherwise but it wasn’t that bad at all. It consists of a few pieces that were very easy to put together.
We took it outside the first night and were able to immediately get a great view of the moon while I was attempting to align the laser site that comes with it. The view of the moon was exciting for our 8-year old son and just as exciting for us but the real excitement didn't come until the following night when I decided to attempt to configure the telescope by aligning it with three visible stars after selecting the area you're viewing from (we chose Eastern US) and setting the current time. We used two stars and the moon. This is where the telescopes strengths stood out. The star database built into the telescope was able to find all three visible planets for this time of year and our location. We were able to see Mars, Jupiter and, the best one... Saturn. I wasn't even sure we were viewing planets until we got to Saturn. Our son had asked if I could see the rings and I initially said no because I only took the time to center it and allow him to look. I was dubious when he looked and said that he could see the rings. I looked back through the telescope and, sure enough, there were the rings. Clearly separate from the planet. We both looked at the planet at least 10 times each. It was amazing but the most amazing part of this was when we put our son to sleep that night and as he was drifting off to sleep he said that he was really glad he got to see Saturn. That moment was worth the full value of the telescope.
Being able to easily find stars and planets made this telescope well worth the purchase. Our son already had an interest in space and astronomy and has several books on the subject. This allowed him to further develop that interest and excitement. We mentioned to him that provided he retains this level of interest we’ll get him a better telescope in the near future. I already plan to stick with Celestron and we’re looking at the Evolution 8 model as an upgrade. Simply a fantastic offering for the price.

Microsoft Surface Pro 2 - 10.6" - 128GB: More capable than your average tablet but lighter and smaller than a laptop, the Surface Pro 2 features hands-on productivity with the ability to fully support Microsoft Office (sold separately). Multitask with side-by-side apps, prop up your tablet with the built-in kickstand, or connect accessories via the USB and display ports for a work-efficient desktop setup.

Poor Design; Fails With Microsofts Own Hotmail
on February 9, 2014

Considering it's all solid state and has a so, so processor the machine performs as expected. The dearth of quality applications and the inability to sync Hotmail means that the machine becomes more of a burden if you're not using what it comes with or your expect to take care of anything you might use a real PC or an android device for. I accomplish more with the android devices we use at home and the full Windows PC. Windows 8 and this machine have been more of a hassle and I feel I've wasted money on the Surface. In all fairness, I'm a developer and have high expectations for a PC. Surface Pro does not meet those expectations and I would consider it a loss.

Great Drive, Poor Copy Software
on January 27, 2014

The NTI Echo cloning software failed to properly copy the drive data over to the new SSD. The worst part is that it believed it had completed the process correctly and wiped my MBR and possibly other necessary data on the original drive. For some reason I'm unable to repair the drive using my installation disc as it's not recognized as the same version of Windows...meaning it probably doesn't recognize windows on the drive at all. When I start the installation anew with the disc it recognizes the drive with the repartitioned area that was created to run a direct copy from the original system drive to the new SSD. Buyer beware. The drive is great if you're going to run a new install but the NTI Echo cloning SW can fail.
As a recommendation after a successful installation has been completed, move page file(s) and anything else making constant writes off the SSD drive and have them run on a standard hard drive. SSD drives have a finite number of writes to each area of the drive. More Info: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6337/samsung-ssd-840-250gb-review/4

do i need coaxial digital audio and digital optical audio wires to connect my blue-ray with my home theater and use an hdmi?

Do i need to get a coax digital cable and optical cable as well to use with my hdmi from my blu-ray to my home theatre receiver?
I would see if someone you know could let you borrow an optical cable to test and see if you get the same results from your receiver for HDMI and optical. I believe you're supposed to get the same results from the HDMI but not certain. You don't need coax if you're going to use optical. It's either one or the other. My receiver doesn't have an HDMI input or I'd try it so I use optical which is superior to coax.
