A slept on GEM in the midst of all the rap madness

"Tronic," as an album, is a virtual auditory masterpiece. This may be Black Milk's best work. The assemblage of beats, rhymes, and guest features makes my ears perk up with joy. This album is D-O-P-E! For me it is a personal classic. It defines and captures the time of when I first heard it and holds my mind in a moment when everyone else was talking about hip-hop being dead and lethargic. Black Milk definitely has a sound that is his own and I must say this is an album that holds its own weight against the pillars of underground rap music classics (such as early Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest, etc.) DETROIT Stand Up!

Apollo Brown and Guilty Simpson team up to give listeners a new avenue for Midwest hip-hop ...and it comes together rather nicely. "Dice Game" is an album that finds the fresh production of Apollo Brown as the backdrop from the 'crime and grime' lyrics that Guilty Simpson has been known to spit. It's a very good album and worth a listen...and a purchase. Recommended for all those that are searching for some dope underground rap music!

The East Coast Hip Hop Scene Still Has A Savior

The second solo offering from Roc Marciano takes his artistry to another level. He actually has changed his flow from the first album, but he is still on point with the swagger and gangsterism which many that appreciate early 90's style "Mafioso" rap can appreciate. He is not easily digested by EVERY ear, but this dude can spit. He is a blend of AZ and Raekwon (for a relation to style). He makes a lot of his own beats, which surprisingly don't incorporate drums. I think that gives him an advantage to easily listen to what he is spitting when he grabs the mic. This music is a throwback to the days of walkmans and boom boxes. Not necessarily catered to those that like the 808's and subs for their car. Yet, ready to appease the appetites for good lyricism and unique flavor!

one of the best rap albums of the year 2013. The Alchemist offers a diverse soundscape for these artists to shred. Planet Asia, Tri-State, and Killer Ben are on point! Slightly drags towards the middle of the album but its only because the pace slows down from the rapid-fire introductions. Highly recommended if you like lyrics you must be able to decipher and stimulate your mind!
