Verified Purchase:Yes
Sony hit it out of the park with this set. First of all, the sale price alone makes these worth it. I purchased them on Black Friday 2015 in-store for $99 (regularly $199). Let's just talk simple Math first... I mean, for $99, you get a pair of Sony over-the-ear, wireless headphones. Repeat... these are 1. Sony, 2. over-the-ear and 3. wireless. Just for those three features alone, you would pay over $300 for Beats by Dre.
Now, let's talk about the phones themselves. They fit great, and I have a fatter than average head. The headband has ten sliding positions to fit a head size up to at least over 8.5, maybe 9. I have a 7 3/4 hat size. It fits large if you need it! But, it also fits snug if you need it.
As for the sound quality, wow! A very important feature is the auxiliary volume control on the phones. So, you can turn it up by your device volume control or use the volume control on the headphones. Second, there is a separate Bass Boost, that, when you push it, adds a ton of bass. I mean a ton!! When I first used them, the Bass Boost was not on and the sound was fantastic and clear at a very loud level. Then, I pushed the Bass Boost and I was blown away! The sound quality with the Bass Boost on is not distorted in any way. I was on a flight when I first experimented with these and I tested the Bass Boost to the song "Turn Down For What". The person across the aisle could hear the vibration of the phones against the back head rest on my seat, over the sound of the plane. That's how much bass this adds, all without distorting the quality. The best part about these are they are designed to go over-the-ear. This is the best style of headphone to get maximum sound from the headphone and minimum sound form the outside. With the sound at a medium listening level, I could hear the music perfectly clear while on the plane. They also do a good job of blocking out noise. I had to take them off every time I heard the ding on the plane so I could hear what they were saying.
Now, for the Bluetooth. I own a pair of Jay Bird on-ear sports band headphones. Those Bluetooth consistently cut in and out, especially when I exercised or ran. I don't plan on using these to exercise or run (even though I could), but, they haven't cut in or out once. That means it has a good Bluetooth signal.
Now, the design... they are made from aluminum and have a very modern, sleek look. The headband has a cushioned section across the top for comfort and to prevent the phones from sliding forward or backward on your head when you bend over. Also, the over-the-ear cushion is made of what I'm guessing is fake leather, however, it is soft and supple to the touch, could be real. Very soft, comfortable feel when wearing. The only downside for me was the ability of the material to breathe is non-existent. After wearing for thirty minutes or more, my hair and ears would be wet from sweat when I remove the phones. That's a minor detail. Also, aside from the Bass Boost button I mentioned, there are other controls on each ear. For example, on the right ear is the auxiliary volume control and the track <Back, >Forward and || Pause buttons. These get a little tricky because you're wearing them and you'll have to remember which way is forward track and which is back track. Pause is a simple push. On the left ear, there is the power on/off button and the Bass Boost button as well as the charge port (micro USB, provided) and a 3.5MM jack (cable provided) to hard wire into your device if you don't have Bluetooth available. And finally, there is an external mic that can be used to talk if you have to take a call while wearing and connected to Bluetooth. I tried this in the airport and the person had no idea I was speaking through a different mic. There is a teeny-tiny blue indicator light to show when the power is on and the same light blinks with a red flash when the Bluetooth is on. There is also another teeny-tiny orange dot to show when the Bass Boost is on. This light you really won't see since you can just push the Bass Boost while wearing the headphones. Trust me, you'll know when the Bass is on... you don't need a light. A neat feature is these ear pieces swivel to lay flat for storage in a backpack or bag with out getting hung up on stuff when you have to move them or take them out.

Are these compatible with mp3 players?

These come with a 3.5mm plug, so, as long as your device has a 3.5mm jack, you're good. If not, use the Bluetooth.

Delay in videos?

Is there a delay in sound while watching video's? My son said that has happened to his friends on their wireless headphones... it's like watching an old kung fu movie.
There could be, possibly when connected wirelessly. One way to find out is to hard wire using the 3.5mm cable (included). If it still does it, then it's the audio playback speed of the device, not the headphones. Although, even if it is the phones, try disconnecting and then pairing the devices again. Could just be a lousy BT connection.

can these be used to listen to books on my kindle fire?

i am looking for headphones that I can use while listening to my books on my kindle
These come with a standard 3.5mm plug and cable. Most devices nowadays are equipped with 3.5mm. iPhones, tablets, Androids, even computers and laptops. Some devices , although very few, still use the smaller 2.5mm plug. If your Kindle has Bluetooth, you're good to go.

are these compatible with any version of IPad

we can't seem to get them to sync?
Sync? Do you mean pair with the Bluetooth? Also, these come with a 3.5mm cable which is standard on Apple.

Power auto-off when removed from head or manual switching required?

Does not have Power auto-off when taking off of head. That would not be good on an airplane where I had to take them off several times to either hear the announcements or the FA. What's the big deal? I hold the power button down for three seconds and they're powered off.

Echo during phone call

Receiver end complaining that they are hearing echo when am using this bluetooth device.

I tried different BT devices with my phone and only connecting this device is causing the echo at the receiver end...
Possible defective mic or maybe a loose wire short is causing your caller to hear an echo. Could be anything or just plain old defective. Either way, if still under warranty, take them back. Mine are great when calling on iPhone 6 Plus. I also used to make a call on my android, no issue.

Why did the price on these go back up to $200?

I really wanted to buy these for my wife, went into the store and the price went up to $200 from $120. Whats up?!
that was a long Black Friday sale, they were $100 off. The regular price in Best Buy and elsewhere (ebay, Amazon) is $199. Keep in mind these are OVER-the ear and wireless, those comparable Beats brand are $300. $199 is a great price for over-the-ear and wireless. Most brands in the $199 price range are ON-the-ear and may not be wireless. You're getting the best of both worlds. And the sound quality is awesome. I've used Beats by Dre and these are as good as those, even better because they are cheaper!! Win-Win!!!

They'r compatible with any 3.5mm jack, and they come with the 3.5mm cable. Just not game consoles.
