If you want the watch to monitor your activities and workouts, you do need to calibrate it. Not hard, you just have to figure out how to do that and do it. On-line help answered the how. Apple has some great video's which help with set-up. I tried to figure a few things out on my own but ended up watching a few help video's and it did help.
I did answer a phone call the other day and that was fun. Person could hear me fine. I've paid for my Starbucks coffee with it and while traveling, I did get travel notices without having to take out my iPhone. I charge my iPhone overnight so charging the Apple Watch is no big deal. I would never wear a watch when sleeping anyways.

Call me old fashioned but I never knew I needed one. Now I have found writing, drawing which I never used my iPad for before. I also found that pointing and clicking can be much easier as well. If you've never used one, this is a lower cost option to try it out.

I wasn't sure I needed a screen shield because I had a hard case to cover the front but the case sometimes left marks on my screen. I always have to have a soft cloth to clean the screen. Since putting the screen shield on, I don't have that problem any more. Worth the price to protect my screen. The IPad is too expensive not to take care of.
