If you aren't expecting it, you will jump. In a small enclosure like a shower, it's like the voice of God yelling at you that it is doing something.

pretty much all headphones are compatible, unless you use a bulky case. Now, if you are looking for ones that allow you to make and receive phone calls, there are specialized headphones for that.
