As a pedometer, leaves something to be desired

After my Fitbit One died, I tried to buy another only to learn they were discontinued. After researching options, I settled on the Blaze. Right away, I had problems with the wrist band. Because of the notch on the inside of the band holder the strap was tough to insert and remove. When I tried to remove it the whole band moved and painfully pinched the hair on the wrist. I should not be painful to put on or remove a watch! I solved it by filing the notch off the holder, and the problem abated substantially. One problem solved.
On to the operation of the watch. It routinely under counts steps by 10-15%. I have done numerous tests by counting my steps up to 1000 at a time. My test results have shown a range from 840 to 940 by the Blaze for 1000 steps taken. I have gone to the Blaze community pages and found that this is a widespread issue. Some writers have discussed the fact that you can improve accuracy by not swinging your arms so much when you walk. Really? A major company produces a wrist worn item to track steps, and I have to alter my arm swing to have it done accurately? If you are a runner or regular walker, you know that alterations to your gait can lead to injury and inefficiency in your exercise. The technology should adapt to the human, not vice versa.
As for the under counting, I guess it is not a big deal in the long run. But I am not satisfied when I pay more for an item and it performs worse than the less expensive Fitbit One.
As for the other features of the watch (exercise, fitstar, etc.) I do not normally use them; if you are a techie perhaps you will find these useful. I basically need my fitbit to (accurately) count steps, floors, distance. One plus is the heartbeat monitor. I find it useful.

Got this to replace my older, smaller monitor. The primary improvement over my old monitor is the viewing angle. Very good color and contrast even at extreme angles - really handy when more than one person is watching a video (e.g.) and all cannot be watching head-on. Like other reviewers have reported, only con is the lack of incorporated speakers in the monitor itself, necessitating the use of separate external speakers. Not a deal-breaker, considering the quality at this price level.

Bought this one to replace an older one after the backup battery had given up the ghost. The replacement battery was almost as expensive as just buying a new UPS, so I bought the 600. One issue with this product, is that the outlets are too close together. A normal plug fits just fine, but modems, external hard drives, etc. often have a big box (transformer) plug, and once plugged in, they intrude on the abutting plug. So, instead of having eight potential outlets, you may only be able to use six or seven. Seems like an easy fix as there is ample room on the chassis of the UPS to space the outlets a bit more. Surprised no one has thought to do that. Of course, if you are just using regular plugs, this works fine.

A big step backward from the clip zip.

I have used Sansa Clip Zip players for years and they have served well for outdoor use (mostly running). Although the clip zip only lasts for about a year to 18 months, the price and features made it my go-to choice and I did not mind replacing it after a year's heavy use. It was easy to use and add music, create playlists, play recently added music, etc. and the sound was decent. When I tried to purchase another, I found that it has been discontinued.
I made the mistake of assuming that the Clip Sport was the same basic player in a more rugged case. I was mistaken. It is very different in its operation and features. The first one I bought quit after two uses (about one hour of actual use). Besides regular freezes, requiring reformatting, It had problems with battery life, and a volume control with a mind of its own which would toggle to minimum volume without being touched. Best Buy replaced the lemon and the replacement worked fine. The reason I will not recommend the Clip Sport is that it is difficult, if not impossible to organize and view your music. It took over an hour with Sandisc support for the technician to walk me through the process of creating and loading a playlist to the player using a windows pc and windows media player. It needs something called an M3U playlist. The number of steps involved is ludicrous. What formerly involved creating a playlist with Windows Media Player and dragging it to the Clip Zip, now involves creating a folder, adding songs, saving as M3U, transferring to media player and synching to the Clip Sport. Really? Adding album art is another debacle. It used to be automatic with the Clip Zip, but now the user needs to manually add album art. Fine if you have one or two albums, but wait, this is an 8 gig player. Thousands of songs, hundreds of albums and no visual identifiers unless you have countless hours to add them manually. When playing music, each time you select an artist or album, the default (first) option is "shuffle". I guess if you do not care about the order of your selections that will suffice, but it is certainly not my preference, yet I cannot avoid the shuffle feature. If I have 8 gigs of music with over a thousand songs on the player, I need an easier way to organize and select my listening choices. I am sure, by now, you sense the frustration with this player. The player is not user friendly.
