Beautiful songs and that distinct sound of his that make this a must for any fan of Pink Floyd. Roger Waters may in fact have been the driving force behind that band, but after listening to this collection, it's obvious that Gilmore was it's heart and soul. All the emotional elements of their music can almost always be traced to his solos / leads , and both are in abundance here....
This bone chilling release from the horror series Penny Dreadful includes all eight episodes of the show's first season, following characters in Victorian England through many terrifying, sexually disturbing horrors.

Bought this just because I was in the mood for a series I could binge on in a weekend. No real idea about the concept of the show other than that it takes place in "Victorian" England, and had classic horror literary character's in the plot line. Turns out it's a great blend of Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Occult, all played seriously instead of " Tongue In Cheek ".....this could have been cheesy, but instead was well written , well acted and has me looking forward to season 2.
Found this by accident in the music section . I was aware that there was going to be a deluxe edition of " Sticky Fingers " released on June 9th of this year , but had no idea about the " Wild Horses " CD single that was a Best Buy exclusive . Being a long time fan of the Stones , I wanted to hear the acoustic version of the song that was available with the original . Great version , but I still prefer the original . On the T-Shirt is a print from the Spanish version of " Sticky Fingers " , which is a disturbing image of severed fingers in a can of treacle....good quality T, and a jarring image .

After promising these deluxe editions since 2012, when in an interview Jimmy Page stated that they would be released in 2013, they are finally here. And the companion discs, and 80 page accompanying books to each of these box sets, plus the vinyl re-issues with all the LP's original artwork are worth the price ( $120.00 ) alone ( to the casual fan, this is very excessive ). The companion disc has alternate takes of Whole Lotta Love and What Is And What Should Never Be, as well as instrumental versions of Thank You and Living Loving Maid, plus rough mixes of the other tracks....it's as if Page released an alternate version of each of these albums, as a " F*** you " to the bootleggers who've been releasing subpar versions for years. These are the real deal...and well worth the wait.

It takes a good hour into this movie before you start to really get a feeling as to what the driving force was behind P.L.Travers ( portrayed by Emma Thompson ), and you finally get some sympathy for the author and her tragic childhood in Australia. Until then, you keep asking yourself why Walt Disney ( portrayed by Tom Hanks ) would have put up with so much of her attitude...she treats every one at Disney studios as if they were second class citizens, and for a woman who demanded so much of others, she has little regard for anyone's feelings but her own. But when Disney himself finally discovers the connection between the " Mr. Banks " of the title and the author herself, it's a testament to Thompson's performance that the viewer actually finds themselves understanding, if not entirely excusing her behavior....over all, a good movie about the creative process, and how certain characters can be so ingrained into their creator's very essence.

What's great about it: The childhood of " Mary Poppins" author P.L.Travers is truly heartbreaking
What's not so great: Makes P.L.Travers herself out to be a royal pain

This double CD is a re-issue from 1993. The event was a concert staged in Oct 1992 at Madison Square Garden as a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Dylan's recording career. Many of his contemporaries were present ( George Harrison, Ron Wood, Roger McGuinn, The Band ) as were a handful of the artists that he influenced ( Eddie Vedder, Chrissie Hynde, Neil Young, John Mellencamp,Tom Petty ). The performances are a mixed lot, with some incredible covers like " Masters Of War " by Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam and " Seven Days " which finds Ron Wood sounding more like Dylan than Dylan ( meant in the best possible way ). On the flip side, there's Lou Reed's turgid " Foot Of Pride " and Dylan himself just going through the motions on "It's Alright Ma ( I'm Only Bleeding )". The highlight for me is " My Back Pages "...a version featuring Dylan,McGuinn,Petty,Young,Clapton and Harrison trading verses and waking Dylan up to rise to the occasion. If you're a Dylan fanatic or just a casual fan, you would do well to add this to your collection.

What's great about it: Some incredible live versions of Bob Dylan's songs
What's not so great: Lou Reed's version of " Foot Of Pride " ....painful to listen to in all the wrong ways.
When this was released in 1977, I wasn't impressed. It didn't fit well with my regular listening ( Stones, Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc ), and seemed like it was everywhere...you couldn't avoid these songs if you wanted to. Flash forward 30 years, and one VH-1 documentary on the Gibb brothers later, and I found a whole new appreciation for it. Beautiful songs like " More Than A Woman" and " How Deep Is Your Love " plus some great dance tracks like " Stayin' Alive " and " Boogie Shoes" by K.C. And The Sunshine Band make this a must for any music fans collection....( right next to your Stones, Zeppelin and Sabbath ! )
What's great about it: All the Bee Gees numbers and Yvonne Ellimans' cover of " If I Can't Have You"
What's not so great: " A Fifth Of Beethoven" could have been left off ...it's tracks like this that led some people to dislike "Disco".
