Good retelling of the JLA New 52 reboot. Good animation, good storytelling, good voice talent... but none of it great. Worth the price of admission for the Jim Lee run featured in the hardcover.
So many films from the past are fondly remembered- and often referenced as classics- but more often than not nostalgia is speaking louder than quality. Not the case here. Requisite SciFi fare.
The kind of narrative and existential themes one would expect from Nolan. Gets a little carried away with itself towards the end, but not too distracting from the overall experience.
If you like Wes Anderson films, you'll like this film. Smart humor, dialogue driven, colorful characters, great performances... just do yourself a favor and pick it up today.
Seems like a departure from prevous outings... which I personally like. For some reason it made me think of Kid A from Radiohead a bit with some of the sampling effects going on. Not for everyone, but by no means a let down.
