Third adapter in three months

The problem may be in the adapter's connector or cable. After a few months, I need to move the connector slightly for it to work. Installing a new adapter solves the problem so my laptop's socket is not the problem. Maybe the cable should be longer?

This bag may be 17.3" at it's highest point but it will not fit a 17" laptop because of the rounded corners. I have a MSI GT72 and it still stands above the highest point. And there's little or no padding at the bottom of the laptop pouch.
