unlvguy's Reviews

Work through the day with this Dell laptop. It includes an Intel Core i7 processor and 12GB of RAM so that tasks are accomplished quickly and easily, and a 2TB hard drive lets you store all your data even when you have no Internet connection. A powerful 42Wh battery keeps this Dell laptop working throughout the day.

Plenty of Issues; Good for Extremely Basic Use

I returned this laptop on the last day possible to give it time to prove itself after I read some of the negative reviews. I couldn’t decide. However, some of the things mentioned in the negative reviews started occurring. Here’s what I found:
1) Overheating: It doesn't seem like it will cool easily, especially when on your LAP.
2) Shift Buttons: They look like they may give troubles after long time usage. The pressing locations for my finger size (7.5 inches from base of palm to top of middle finger) caused my last Dell to have the smaller shift key come off the rack many times after about 6 years. It never stays on now, so I cannot use it. I have always been a Dell user.
3) Touchpad: Again with my hand size, typing is annoying with the location of my fingers and the large size of the area below the keyboard for the touchpad to be located (large touchpad). The touchpad also did not have an automatic scroll action like previous Dell models to scroll up and down on the right edge of it. I did not look to find this option in settings, though.
4) Button Locations: The placement of the Home/End keys and arrows drove me crazy. Home and End are on the right and left arrows and it was annoying to have to hit the Alt or Fn buttons to use those functions. I use them constantly when browsing online. This was one of the major reasons I returned.
5) Dirt: The touch-screen was a nightmare for holding dirt. Even with my hands spotless, it kept tracks on it.
6) Battery life: It was horrid. This was simply with using the laptop for web browsing after downloading Chrome and nothing more. This is basic web browsing, not playing games constantly or that type of thing. I did not use the laptop for anything else and on days 1 and 2 it proved battery life poor.
7) Lag: I transferred 118 GB of data from my old PC’s hard drive to this computer. After I did so, the lag was starting to be experienced. I opened a few documents to make sure the Microsoft programs would open them. They opened quickly, but some functions had a tiny delay. I noticed a medium sized change in my browsing the web in either browser. Even after clearing cache to test, the web pages were having a very noticeable change in loading speed. I did not want to worry about this getting worse over time.
Overall, it may be decent for someone who will use it very little and only for the laptop function, but I would not buy it again and I made sure I returned it, even though it was at a great sale price. I was concerned about the lag growing and I didn’t want to see if it got worse when I installed more advanced programs. It may be time to find something other than a Dell, even though I have always used them.

It works

I am writing this review 10 weeks after owning this so I have had time to assess it. This antenna is absolutely nothing special. It's a regular antenna. It is on the main television in our living room, but it is moved from the wall to wherever it works which can even be the floor. It is like most low cost digital TV antennas where it is affected by weather or objects. If someone is walking by within about 5 feet of it, the signal is affected. So, that is a lower distance than most antennas. It is very thin and easier to work with in that sense. But, it's adjusted/moved NON-STOP to pick up the different stations (some towers east, some towers west), especially during rain. Would not re-purchase.

Keep an area in your home toasty with this Honeywell HCE311V tower heater that features a compact design and cool-touch housing for easy transport from room to room. The programmable thermostat and 1-, 2-, 4- or 8-hour timer allow efficient operation.

Heats well for medium sized areas

I am writing this review 62 days after purchase so I have had time to use it enough. This heater works well for providing heat. It heats my bedroom and medium sized living room well. The timers work well. The thermostat functions by putting the heater into standby when the desired temperature is met. The only major issue I have with it is that I rely on the thermostat instead of the high/low on setting. But, it appears to not trigger the heater fan back on until it is 5 degrees below the set temperature. That makes me have to set the temp. higher than what I want so it comes back on sooner/closer to what I desire. But, then it runs until the room has reached the set temperature which is above what I actually want and I get hot. The fall over emergency feature works well. If it tips, it shuts off.

Hello, Would this antenna work with a Vizio TV that was manufactured in April 2008? The TV is a 21" 1080p LCD screen with a coaxial/antenna hook up in the rear.

If it has a coax input, yes, it will work.

Will this antenna work on a tv in the center of a home with no windows nearby.

I've had one for 10 weeks and it works better than a few others I've had in the middle of the house. But, it is affected by people walking by and the weather still somewhat easily (4 out of 10 scale). Better than a few others away from windows. I would not recommend it overall.

I have a Westinghouse 42" tv that doesn't have a coax connection how can I connect an antenna

I think you'll need a converter box. There are converter boxes that take a coax cable into them and then have HDMI output spaces. I don't really know how you would change the channels and stuff on those. Maybe they come with a remote control. You'll want to research them. I am NO expert.
