Of all the Virgin Mobile phones on the market, this seemed to be the best value. Before buying, I researched all the phones, reading reviews, looking for problems, and educating myself on the processors. This phone uses the Qualcomm MSM8917 (Snapdragon 425), which is one of the newer chips in a virgin mobile phone. Before this, I bought the J6, but had to return it due to severe overheating. This one is a good deal, but there are a few issues. First, I can't use voice text. When I do, it repeats itself over and over, changing the words down the line like a bad re-translation. This sucks, because I've always relied heavily on voice text. I can't find a fix. Second, I hate how I can't turn off the shutter sound when I take a picture. This seems to be a Samsung thing in general, as I have never had this problem on an LG. And finally, (and this is not really a problem, per se, as an adjustment on my part), I feel that Samsung over-complicates things. For example, I can't pick and choose which notifications sounds to recieve. Well, I can...but in a back-door-fix kind of way. I need to hear texts when I'm sleeping, because my daughter is in school early, and sometimes texts me in the morning, if she misses the bus, or is sick, etc. But I don't need to hear every email and other notification. But in the settings, it is really just on or off. To customize it took forever to figure out. I had to put my phone in do not disturb mode and then customize from there. It just seems not as straight forward or user friendly in some ways. Other than those issue, great phone. But I think next time, I'll go back to LG.
