The complete first season of the WGN original series Outsiders, which follows the Farrell family as they struggle for control of their isolated Appalachian mountain town with an outside mining company who have designs on the riches beneath the soil. David Morse, Joe Anderson, and Gillian Alexy star in this backwoods drama series, which was created by Peter Mattei.
The Mountain clans were interesting as characters & for their unique lifestyles. The townsfolk were rather uninteresting as characters & actors. Overall the show was not bad.
What should have been a dark story in the Marvel Universe ended up being a tongue in cheek, violent & vulgar, comical-comic parody. Comic books were originally designed for kids. Therefore, the films should be made with them in mind as well. Unfortunately, adults have tainted many graphic novels & films to indulge their guilty pleasures. There are plenty of venues for the R rated themes, stop invading the children's realm to expand this stuff.
The first one blew me away. The second one grabbed hold of me. The third one shook me a little. This one took a bite! I am so glad they revived & reenergized the franchise. So excited for future installments.
I know Mel has lost many fans in recent years, but you can't deny he was great in his day & engraved some memorable characters that cannot be duplicated. So, it isn't easy for me to accept new actors portraying these icons of previous movies. However, Tom Hardy pulls it off. If you love extreme action, this is the one!
Most film critic reviews trashed this one. I was very skeptical, since there was little to no mention of this project being released this soon. I read there was a reboot in the works, but figured a few years down the road. Although I still prefer the original 2 films, this movie was not bad. If you are not too much of a perfectionist and like the Superhero genre, I think you will enjoy this move.
Maybe not one of the most popular Superheroes, but the movie was entertaining. If they follow up with sequels, the movies should get more interesting. Introducing Wasp will add to the storyline. Now that he has joined the Avengers, this film makes for a nice addition to the collection, especially viewing it right before Captain America: Civil War.
I know many people dislike Stallone & don't think much of his acting skills. However, he plays the parts that suit him & does a believable job of it. I enjoy the characters, the story line, the message of hope & friendship. Simple plots & predictable outcomes? Yeah, maybe, but overall I find myself involved in the stories. In my opinion; keep 'em coming Sly!
