A waste of money

The camera fails to come on about half the time. I called Garmin, and talked to a support person who had absolutely no knowledge of the product. It was suggested that I use a relay to turn on the camera, since my car has a CanBus system. I asked what relay, and she didn't know. So after a lot of personal research, I wired in a relay, and the camera still fails half the time. I even took it to an install "professional" to have the install checked. The install was performed perfectly. The Garmin support person promised a follow up Email, or a call from a specialist for this product. That didn't happen.

Halo what?

I have never played Halo. Never read the books. My only contact with Halo was from the TV commercials.
Watched the movie, and loved it. The acting from the unknowns was really good. The CGI was first rate.
Would I watch it again? YES..... I bought the Blu-Ray
What's great about it: True scifi
What's not so great: Plot starts a little slow

113 minutes of my life, I'll never get back

The preview leads you to believe it's a comedy. With Johnny Depp, I believed it would be good. About half way through, I realized it was not going to get funny. Every humorous scene was in the previews. I gave the disk to my daughter, and told her she could keep it........ she returned it to me the next day, and told me she didn't want it.
What's great about it: cinematography was good
What's not so great: everything else

Great film..... bad Blu-ray

This is an awesome film, with great action, and a good plot. The CGI first rate..... even better than the first Iron Man.
Now the bad news.... the blu-ray disk is horrible. It freezes several times during the movie. My player is 6 months old and I just updated the software. I tried it on a different player, and it did the same thing. It's seriously annoying , as it interrupts the flow of the movie.
What's great about it: CGI is first rate
What's not so great: Blu-Ray freezes

Movie = great Blu Ray = horrible

This is an all time great movie. Lots of action and suspense .... the BluRay disk however fails miserably. The quality is terrible. There is so much grain that it looks like an old VHS tape. I have the original DVD release and just bought the BluRay, thinking the quality would be better. I was wrong. Save your money and just buy the DVD. They actually look the same.
Like I said, the movie is great, the BluRay is BAD.
What's great about it: Plot and action
What's not so great: BluRay quality is horrible

Really nice remote. One button operation, once you have it set up. Having your setup loaded from the computer makes it really nice, "Just in case". Programming is actually pretty easy, once you figure out the fact that most of the programming is done for you....... don't over think the steps.
The only thing I really don't like is the so called, ergonomic design. It looks like the housing was designed by an art school flunk out. The rounded bottom by the batteries makes it hard to hold and press buttons with one hand.
What's great about it: Awesome amount of configurations available
What's not so great: Ergonomics
I would recommend this to a friend!

1 hour for me to assemble, by myself, not including mounting the 55" LCD. Just watch the videos, and pause them while you work. Almost impossible to mess up the build. The only thing that would make this unit better would be an adjustable vertical angle on the LCD mount. One hint on the suction cups is, a little dish soap on the cups to get thim into the holes...... and some soap on the suction part will also allow you to slide the glass tops a little when placing them on the frame.
What's great about it: Solid as a rock
What's not so great: n/a

Find the transmitter. It's the black rectangular box. Make sure the flat side is facing the GPS. The transmitter also can not be blocked by the cars sheet metal. Just because the install was done by a dealer, doesn't mean it was done correctly.

If you have a Garmin Nuvi 65LM, DO NOT buy the BC30. At Garmins request I tried two different BC30's, and TWO different Nuvi65LM's. Same intermittent camera connection. I borrowed a Nuvi 6589LMT from a friend, and got a rock solid connection. So I take back my 1 star review of the BC30..... I however don't suggest the Nuvi 65LM with this camera. I do however stand by my comments about Garmin tech support.

what nuvi's is this compatable with?

I know for a fact that it works well with the Nuvi2689LMT. It DOES NOT work well with the Nuvi65LM,

we bought a computer with windows vista pre-loaded. How do we get windows 7?

Go to Microsoft.com and use the upgrade advisor for Windows 7. After it's done running, it will tell you if your PC will run Win 7 and what version can run on your system. Then go to Best Buy and purchase the upgrade that the upgrade advisor recommends.
