We have had many vacuum cleaners. We spent over $1000 on our last one. When it broke we tried the Dyson. Amazing. Easy to handle, easy to clean. No filters needed. Light weight, convenient implements.
Dyson has our vote. Best $300 we ever spent. It makes vacuuming almost seem like fun.

does this vacuum drive itself?

I know that's probably not the right term, but some vacuums kind of drive themselves, making it less tiring to use. It's kind of a dealbreaker for me!
No but it seems like it does. Very light. The combo of the sucking power and the brushes seems to pull the machine through.

Is this product powerful enough to pick up dog hair

My son wants to purchase this product for me and of course I have a dog.
We have a Yellow Lab. She drops hair constantly. The power of the Dyson makes easy work of her sheddings. Buy it. You won't be sorry.
