Nice update to the Shield TV

Same as the old 2015 model, just much smaller. Took the 2015 model and installed it in my bedroom. Put this newer smaller one in the living room. Very fast little set top box. Easy to navigate with either remote or game pad.
Can't recharge the remote anymore, has batteries built in. No HDMI cable included, make sure you pick one up if you need one.
Out of all the set top boxes I have bought in the past, the Nvidia Shield TV is my favorite. I took my old Minix that was in the bedroom and tossed it in the garbage after it was replaced with a Nvidia.
Shame the 2017 model was not beefed up a bit more. Still a great box! Get you one today!

I was looking to upgrade my bedroom TV from a 26" to a bit bigger 32" TV.
I have been doing homework for about 2 weeks on what TV is a good value with the best picture. I shopped online and came to Best Buy to see what they had and to read other peoples reviews, very helpful. I looked at Insignia because I have heard good things about them in the past and now. I noticed on here how many people gave this TV a great rating. I did read some bad reviews as well. More favor leaned to the positive ones and I headed off to my local Best Buy. I picked this model because of the good reviews and it was a 1080p TV. I did notice many of the 720p TV's Best Buy had and everyone else as well were all in the same price range. 1080p VS 720p for the same price? I'll pick the higher resolution for the added zing factor. The Christmas rush plus the sales I was lucky to get one, many other people must have thought the same thing, go for the 1080p. Good sales staff at the Paramus NJ store, the guy spotted one on the top shelf above the TV's.
When I got home I took it out of the box, it is very light by the way. I put the TV face down on my bed. Took out all the other stuff in the box. Easy instruction poster made it simple for me to install the base of the TV. Plugged my Mohu Leaf antenna in and scanned for all my digital OTA stations. Beautiful. Installed my Bose PC speakers in the 3.5mm headphone jack. I don't like any TV speakers, but this TV does have great sound. I just rather have better speakers and sound. I tested my M8 Android set top box in the HDMI port and again, amazed how wonderful it looked. As for the "Roku" HDMI port I put my Xbox 360 into that and gave it a test, passed with flying colors.
This TV was everything I was looking for as an upgrade. It has 2 HDMI ports, as well as other inputs. A 3.5mm headphone output jack, big plus for hooking up external speakers. 32" size screen so nice real estate. It has a small foot print, I use a smaller TV/monitor riser and have my Xbox 360 under it.

I just replaced an old Philips 5.1 home theater set up with these. I always had a hard time hearing movies on the Philips. Maybe because we downloaded them? Anyway I would use the TV speakers instead and I would hear what they were saying. The TV sounded OK. So I sprung for these and so glad I did. I think they sound a world better than my old Philips 5.1 system and of course the cheese TV speakers. So simple compared to all the crazy speaker cables everywhere and holes in my walls to mount the rear speakers and the ugly speaker stands for the fronts. These speakers are so small and sit on my entertainment system. The whole package to set up took me like 10 minutes and I was done. It took me longer removing all the 5.1 stuff.
The TV movies sound perfect, I hear the actors perfectly now and my Pandora sounds fantastic. It made my entertainment more streamlined as well. Great that it has the older RCA inputs ( Red / White cable ) and it has fiber optic too.
Age, I feel I'm getting older and I just want it to be more simple. This was simple. I didn't have to run long speaker wires and hide them. I can use the Bose remote as a all in one remote. Well all I use it for is the TV and the Cinemate itself, I use a HTPC as my everything box. Cable, people still pay for cable TV? With my HTPC hooked up to my TV I get Netflix, games, music all at my fingertips and every bit of it sounds amazing on these Bose speakers.
I have a small apartment so these fit in perfect. On the back of the Acoustimass is a small dial, you can adjust the bass from none to thunderous. The feature is wonderful for my small apartment where I have neighbors. When my downstairs neighbors leave I can set it up a bit, when they are home I can lower it with ease. As of now I have them set dead in the middle and it is perfect.
What's great about it: simplicity, sound, size, looks
What's not so great: price

just bought 60" sharp aquos from best buy, i have a cinemate bose surround sound, cannot hear sound from speakers, turned sound down from tv but still

No sound, how do I hook the sound system up
Your Cinemate speakers hook up either optic or RED / WHITE output. Did you check your TV settings. Click Menu, Go to System Options, Input Terminal Settings, Output Select, change it to either Fixed or Variable. Mine is on Fixed and I use optic and have wireless headphones in the 3.5mm output as well.

I have a 47' Sharp TV and a Bose Cinemate GS II as well. Works great. But your menu and setting might be a little different. Hope this put you in the correct ball park. I also use my Cinemate remote for the Bose speakers of course and the TV to turn on and off, change inputs and what have you. Everything works great.

how to fix my DVD drive?

Hello,

I have two month old HP Pavilion dv4-1225d laptop, and few weeks ago he stoped playing my DVDs and CDs. I already visited HP site and downloaded dvd drivers but nothing happens. What d I do?
Sounds like you may need the DVD player replaced or fixed. If it does not play anything at all it failed. I can say bring it in to your local repair shop or look online for a replacement dvd player for it, if you could replace it yourself you could save money, if not contact HP.
