This is perhaps the strongest score of the series of three new Star Trek movies. Michael Giacchino adds more variance. The space station music features a nice change of textures. The most striking moments for me come when Alexander Courage's original Star Trek theme is blended in and honored. The only missing elements are the pop music tunes used in the movie.
This represents the Monkees' best album since the 1960s. Featuring solid, catchy songs from great songwriters of the past and the present, Good Times proves that the group is still relevant and capable of top-notch work.
Jennifer Nettles' solo music isn't quite like her work with Sugarland, but her beautiful voice is worthy of a listen in any context. The album provides a catchy mix of pop and country buoyed by her strong vocals.
This is a resoundingly entertaining feature-length special after the third series. Set mostly in the Victorian era where the original canon took place, the creators and stars have a jolly good time, which comes across onscreen.
This is one of Rob Zombie's weakest albums to date. Not breaking any new ground, its sound is an uninteresting sameness to previous efforts. It has a perfunctory feel to it that leaves me wondering if he's only fulfilling some contractual obligation.
This release compiles every episode from the debut season of Dr. Who, the sci-fi series following the adventures of a time-traveling alien called "The Doctor" (Christopher Eccleston) and his human companions as they deal with crises set on Earth and other worlds.
Newly available in HD, this is an upconversion because the first four series of the newer run were shot in standard definition. This is the relaunch of the series, also known as NuWho, bringing new audiences to the fold. It picks up after the long hiatus from the last new episode from 1996, continuing the mythos, but it stands alone for viewers who are unfamiliar with the show's history from 1963. Christopher Eccelston is an underrated Doctor, and fans have these episodes to thank for the starting point of Doctor Who becoming a worldwide phenomenon.
This set has everything for the Whovian. It features all of the episodes from the previously releases of Series 9, Part One and Part Two, plus the Christmas specials, Last Christmas and The Husbands of River Song. It also includes all of the special features. That means it contains all of the content of four separate releases.
