Just what I needed

So what's in the box. The unit of course, a USB-C charging cable, user's manual, alcohol wipes, and 10 adhesive stickers. The stickers state they are reusable from 3-10 times depending on the user's skin. The box doesn't contain a 110 charging adapter, but I like most people have a bunch of them. I didn't even open the USB-C cable as I have an adapter and cable sitting on the counter for my original Google Pixel. It took about 3 hours to charge the unit. As it charged, I opened the manual and used my phones QR reader to scan the code on the first page of the user's manual. They have an app for iOs and Android. I have the Pixel...so it's the Android app for me. It was very easy to install. The app allowed me to create an account simply by entering a few items such as name and email address.
After charging the unit and installing the app, I restarted the app and completed step by step the instructions to pair the unit and attach it to my upper back. I used a wipe to clean the area in hopes that the adhesive strip would stick and be reusable. The strips are probably the weak point of the system. Having to purchase additional items is always a bummer, at least for me. That said, the unit stuck just fine to my back and then I used the app to set my posture. It took a few tries to get it, but once I did, it won't be a problem in the future. You can set it for sitting most of the time, standing or walking. I have it set for sitting and I'm here at the keyboard. If I sit against the backrest or away from it and straight up, I'm good. I can tilt my head all the way forward with little change on the app, but it's noticeable. If I bend at the chest or lean forward a bit, it goes past the red warning and the units vibrates. You can set the warning length with 5 different settings. Short, medium, long, knock knock, and rampup. The strength is also adjustable. Gentle out of the box and there's medium and strong.
As I sit here and type, the unit has only registered when I turn my head and bend to look at the app. If I stare at the monitor, I can see that my head is a bit forward, but not enough to buzz me. It's about 1 and the red warning is at 2. I have to make a bit of effort to set off the warning. I imagine if I were doing something other than reviewing the app, it would go off more often as I slouched or leaned in to concentrate on a task.
As a person with some disabilities, this will hopefully help me learn to keep my head in a better position. That would help with headaches, neck strain and tight muscles. I'm hopeful and believe that getting constant reminders to sit up/straighten up will ease some bodyaches.
Back to the adhesive pads. There is a link in the settings that you can use to purchase more. They have 10 pcs also and they run $6.95 with free US shipping. Seems a bit high to me and that's why I don't like items that require constant purchasing of supplies. It would be the one reason I wouldn't recommend this to a friend. I do recommend the unit, but I would definitely include to mention that they would need to make future purchases and to find other sources for materials because all technology has a end of life and someday, this unit will too. Overall for my needs, this should be a wonderful tool to help me have better days.

Sounds really good, works well, limited hook ups

I unboxed the sound bar and subwoofer a few hours ago. In the box you get both units, optical cable, 110v power brick, wall mounting brackets and a pair of stick on feet. The simple manual included is pretty basic and doesn't mention what or why to use the feet to raise the unit. I downloaded the user manual from the LG website and it fails to mention them either. I chose not to use them and the unit seems fine without them.
So, what I like about the unit. It sounds really clear and good. I have it in the master bedroom and it doesn't overpower the room. There are a few settings you can chose, ASC (optimizes the sound content), Bass Blast and Cinema. I use Cinema which sounded the clearest to me yet still offers some bass. Next the subwoofer just works. I plugged it in first and the green light started blinking. As soon as I plugged in the sound bar, the green light was steady and I had absolutely no issues. LG does have steps in the simple guide to manually connect the subwoofer should it not do it automatically.
Now where this sound bar comes up short. The only tv input is optical. It should have additional inputs...at the very least HDMI. It does have Bluetooth and USB, but that's seems to be to connect to your phone, tablet or a USB stick. Luckily, my old Insignia/Roku has an optical output. Like I said, it sounds great, but I tested it with a number of music videos on YouTube and I had to max out the volume to have a sound high enough to enjoy. I do like my music loud, but at max, it wasn't loud. My next complaint may be nothing to some, but in a bedroom I'd like a way for the green led to go out. With so much tech in my home, I don't need more light pollution in each room. As it is, I don't need to turn on lights to maneuver at night. The steady glow of clocks, standby power leds, etc. act as constant night lights. Another issue is the USB port. If it is an input port for playing files, why bury it under the back of the unit. Everytime you need to insert/remove the USB stick, you have to invert the sound bar. Seems like it would make more sense having the port on the front, side or straight out of the back. Instead it's in a notch (divot, nook) and then into the side of that notch. Very inconvenient. Then there's the Bluetooth input that only works with an LG tv. That's been the norm for so long, trying to keep customer loyal to you brand. For customers like me, you shouldn't even offer such a feature as it turns me off of your products. I'd rather a company understand that consumers purchase a wide variety of brands depending on price, features and availability and if you offer a feature, you should invest the time to make it adaptable to most major brands.
I'd highly recommend downloading the user manual from LG. There's a QR code in the book for the Music Flow Bluetooth App from the Playstore. I don't see a link for iOs, so I don't know if LG offers it to iPhone users. The sound volume works much better with this app. I couldn't get above 17 with it being too loud. So maybe my volume issue is with my tv, YouTube as a source or something else. I'll have to continue to use it and hopefully find a way to increase the max level. The Music Flow Bluetooth app makes it easy for file management. On my original Pixel, it organizes my music by Albums, Artists, Songs, Genres, and Folders. There's a Bluetooth connect/disconnect button and a settings button that allows the user to set up auto play and gestures. Overall a nice app.
That's about it. The unit is fairly basic compared with my current soundbar. Having the wireless sub is convenient, just set it anywhere and plug it in. The sound quality IMO is very clear for this price point. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive sound option that's better than there tv puts out.

Surprised how well it works

Unboxing the unit is simple. It's just the cooker and a packet of instructions. The air fryer has but two controls, a timer that goes to 60 minutes and a thermostat that goes to 400 degrees. I unboxed the fryer and washed the removable rack and basket with hot soapy water. It does state that it's upper rack dishwasher safe, but I prefer to just hand wash it, dry and put it back once it's cooled down. Plus the rack has 4 rubber feet that I feel would get lost or damaged with repeat washings.
So, once washed and wiped down, the fryer was ready for use. I did a batch of frozen store brand steak fries to see how it compared with the large air fryer/pressure cooker I've been using. I poured about 25 fries in the basket, gave them a quick spray of coconut oil and put the fries in the cooker. According to the quick start page, they have about 20 items listed and frozen fries are on there. 400 degrees at 20 minutes compared to my larger unit that runs at 360 for 16 minutes. The timer finished at the end of the cook cycle and sounds like one of those old timers with a single "ding". I have to say I'm either getting better at air frying or this thing just kicked my name brand expensive pressure cooker/air fryer's butt. The fries were moist and powdery (is that a word?). A squirt of ketchup on them and I was plenty happy. I would totally recommend this unit to others as it's fairly inexpensive and works well with frozen fries. I'm sure I'll be trying other items and it will be hit or miss as I adjust cook times and temps, but I'm also sure I'll have some really good meals too.

Rated on performance, setup was a 4

So I unboxed this unit tonight knowing it was bound to be a bit of a headache. Networking always is. First off, out of the box you get the modem/router, power supply and a lan cable. I didn't use it, but looking at it, it looks like a 6 footer, but maybe a 3'.
I disconnect the 75ohm cable from my Spectrum router and attached it to the new Arris unit. Then I attached the lan cable from my PC to the unit and lastly powered it up. I waited for the lights to turn steady green, it starts out blue, flashing light blue, flashing green and then steady green. There's just 2 lights, WWW globe and WiFi rainbow. I got the steady green and try to open surfboard.com, but no bueno. As instructed, I contacted Spectrum and through some miracle, I got a wonderful agent that helped me. It took about 15 minutes to authorize the unit and when we were done it said not authorized, start over. She was wondering why, since I guess she did everything right and it showed okay on her end. She had me reboot the modem and tada, webpage opened up. If that was all I needed to do, I would have been giddy.
Sadly, I have multiple items using my home network. Many are on wireless and have the old router network and password. My old router is a tank, the Linksys EA 9500 with 8 gigaports. I have an Arlo security system, my den switch with 4 systems hooked to it, a mac mini, a few printers and more wired in. So I needed/wanted to use the old tank in bridge mode. I found a setup guide on Linksys' website and once I figured out the wiring and how to access the setup webpage, I was good. All the old network WiFi connection work off the old passwords and some of them I reconnected with the new. I must say that my Best Buy Insignia/Roku tv in the bedroom connects much faster than before. All the wired systems are working through the old Linksys and the new Arris. I connected the Arlo cameras to the Arris and the system seems more snappy and responsive. I've had issues with them dropping signal or taking forever to load live view. If tonight is any indication, I'm going to be much happier with the cameras now, thanks to the Arris modem/router.
I'm not sure what else you can say about a plastic box that just sits in the corner of the desk, but everything I tried seems to work and if it stays this way, I'll be very happy.
Oh and the setup book is fairly small, but follow the steps and you'll be up and running in less than a half hour (unless you get an agent that isn't up to the task). I say again, I was lucky :o)
I'd recommend this to anyone in need of a cable modem and if you have less than 4 lan addon or need a WiFi network, this is for you.
Lastly, this is a cable modem, not DSL or Satellite service.

Takes a great video, wish it had a rear cam
on July 17, 2019
Posted by: RandallFlagg

In the box you get the camera, two mounts (permanent glued on and suction cup. There's also a charging cable (cigarette lighter to USB), a micro USB to USB cable, start guide, and a warning sticker. At least in my area, the warning sticker should be a theft sticker. It just screams, "break window and steal high end dashcam" YMMV.
The F1.3 lens and 1440p @ 30fps records clear video. You can set it at 1080p @ 60fps should you wish to. The unit has Alexa and you can ask her to play music, make a call or send video to your phone. The touch screen works flawlessly. I scrolled through all the settings and nothing needed to be changed. It just works out of the box. You could turn on parking mode so it records if you get hit while parked. The internal battery will start recording, but it only has limited battery life. I wish it had a bit more.
I chose to mount it with the 3M taped permanent mount. The magnetic mount works very well. Just get the camera close to the mount and the magnet "sucks" it in place. With the permanent mount, the USB cable inserts into the mount so you don't have to mess with it when you remove the camera. There are contacts in the mount and camera so the USB stays with the mount. For reference, I installed the cam in my 2007 GMC Sierra full size truck and mounted the cam just left of the rearview mirror. There was way more than enough to tuck the power cable under the headliner, down the a pillar and into the left fuse box on the dash. I could route it to the power outlets under the stereo, but I chose to install a power outlet next to the interior fuse panel under the cover. Having it fused to the accessory lets the unit power off when the key is turned off and to turn on when the key is turned to accessory or run.
I have another well known brand in my daily driver and this camera has much better video. My other one does record in 1080p with both front and rear cams. That's my only negative comment about the NextBase unit. I wish it came with the rear facing camera and that it wasn't an additional cost. Other than that, I'd recommend this cam to anyone that drives on a daily basis.

Couldn't be happier
on July 16, 2019
Posted by: RandallFlagg
from Hi Desert, CA
I like having a laser printer for black and white. For the last 4-5 years, I've been using a cheap Brother unit that's done the job. The M428fdw just took it's place. This thing is a beast. It was probably the easier printer install I've ever done. I unboxed the unit by tipping it out of the box, per the instructions. I hoisted it up on the desk where the Brother once sat and looked it over. I ran the new power cord just in case it was a heavier gauge one than the old printer. Then connect the lan(nic) cable and that was it. I pushed it against the wall and proceeded to download the software from HP. The software download and install were a breeze. I was up and running in 10 minutes or so. It runs off my home network and every pc in the house as well as my mac mini and handhelds are able to print from it. I haven't had any issues with other units communicating with the HP printer. I have a feeling this printer will be around as long as the Brother or more.
The box contains the printer, power cable, USB cable, a phone cord, a preinstalled toner cartridge and the necessary guides to get you up and running.
I'm not sure how tray 1 holds 100 sheets. It looks like it would, but since it's a feed tray, I wouldn't want to leave it open all the time. Tray 2 holds 1/2 a ream and has a floating plastic gauge on the front of the tray to give you a quick reference as to whether or not it will be adequate for your next print job. According to HP online, there is an optional tray 3 available that holds a ream of paper. Lastly, this a black and white printer, not color. It fits my printing needs for word docs and my color ink jet for everything else.

Perfect PC for the Den
on July 14, 2019
Posted by: RandallFlagg
from Hi Desert, CA
I have a gaming PC desktop and laptop. I didn't need a desktop able to play games or applications demanding high end graphic hardware. I wanted a system close to where we spend a lot of time, the den, kitchen nook etc. This system fits that bill.
First off it's quiet and small. Just add a monitor and speakers and it's ready to work. It comes with a basic mouse and keyboard. I had it assembled in a few minutes (that includes finding the card table to put it on) and it powered up. Now the unit I received does need a bunch of updates. I first removed McAfee from the unit. Microsoft Security is just fine for this PC. That and a few Candy Crush games were the only bloatware I found that had to go. Then it was about 3-5 download sessions and reboots to get Windows Update to install all the needed patches. I do have Office 365, so there could have been a few for Office also.
After that, I've been using it for social media and basic games like Mafia Reloaded and Age of Empires with no issues. It does everything most users need to do on a daily basis...besides intense graphic applications like Photoshop. I didn't install that since I have it on my Ryzen 7 machine. The ability to walk over and check email, Google something or authorize a Roku channel next to the tv is very convenient.
There are 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports on the front as well as a USB C, which are nice, but it would be better if they were on the back of the unit. One of each on the front is good for intermittent use, but for addons that are stationary, back is better. Using the front ones leaves the door open, so why have a door if you never can close it??? That's about the only complaint I have about the unit. I like the large power button on top, the 4 USB's in the back (although they are all black...so 2.0 I guess) and the small power supply. I leave my desktop on most of the time and it has a 650 power supply, so having this one on too with such a tiny power supply works for my energy bill.
I definitely recommend this to anyone that doesn't want to play first person shooters, graphically demanding games, video or photo editing etc. If you just need a nice PC that works for your daily needs, I think the Lenovo 510A fits that need.

I was unable to review the dock
on July 9, 2019
Posted by: RandallFlagg
from Hi Desert, CA
I thought that my Windows desktop, gaming laptop or my Mac Mini (late 2014) supported Thunderbolt 3, but unfortunately I was mistaken. The USB-c connector and Thunderbolt 3 are the same, but the PC must have the lightning bolt symbol next to the port. I'll have to save it for a future build or return it.
I rate it 5 stars because it offers the features I've been looking for. Dual HDMI ports for 4k monitors, a USB 3.0 and 2.0 port as well as a gigabit lan port. It would be wrong of me to lower the rating since I'm unable to put the dock through it's paces. In my opinion based on a few reviews I've read, the dock should perform well and very close to the reported specs for each port. It's well made with a nice metal housing, giving it a bit of heft. I definitely want to use it as soon as I have a system that supports it.

I think this is my go to printer
on July 1, 2019
Posted by: RandallFlagg
from Hi Desert, CA
I'm a Brother printer fan and I've been running the HL2040 laser printer, the MFC-J4620DW and MFC-J895DW ink jet printers. I like all of them because the price of ink is cheap. I can afford to use genuine ink in all of them. Now comes along the Epson ET-3760 Ecotank and talk about nice. The printer comes with full bottles of all 4 inks. The box states it should last about 2 years before I run out. I figured that the refills would have to be expensive, but to my surprise, they are equivalent to my other printers.
Setup was a bit tedious, but it just took time. You want to make sure you read the steps and follow them. You add the ink before you plug it in, with a bit left in each jar. Why I asked and then set them a side. I plugged it in, downloaded the software and installed it. I ran it twice so I could do USB and Lan. After a number of test prints done on the initial setup, I found out why they left ink in each bottle. The setup must fill up lines because when it completed, I could visually see how much ink it used. The left over filled the tanks to full again. Then the bottles could be tossed out. I would say if I had one small gripe, it's that Epson should have used different designs for each bottle. I kept thinking, what if I put the wrong color bottle on the wrong reservoir, lol.
Other than that, it looks like a great printer. My pages print very nicely and a bit quicker than my older printers. Oh I did have an issue where it doesn't print from Microsoft Mail. Not sure why yet as it is the default printer. I was using Mail with a Yahoo account and it didn't print. I opened Yahoo Mail in Chrome and it printed without issue.
For anyone looking for an all in one, I'd recommend the unit!

Works great as it should!

I opened the box expecting it to take a bit to get the cleaner up and running. The box includes the Floor Jet and handle, battery and charger, a gentle and multi purpose roller brush, a rinse tray and a bottle of multi surface solution. Typically these things have a number of steps to get it assembled, so I'm looking for the multisteps pages and there aren't any. I find that I have to insert the handle into the unit, pick a roller brush and install it. The handle doesn't have any fasteners, it just clicks and the roller brush has a top open door that you just squeeze open and place the roller in. It only fits one way, so pretty hard to not get right. The battery states it takes hours to fully charge, so probably overnight is good. I put it in the unit and it let me run it long enough to get a small kitchen clean, but not fully vacuumed. I wish it would have had a medium charge upon opening it as I wanted to test it out a bit more than I did.
Anyway, the next day I was able to use the Floormate Jet and it's a breeze to use. You have two fill lines in the back tank for clean water and cleaner. It doesn't take a lot of cleaner either...mostly water. As you use the machine, dirty water is captured by the front tank. There's a simple one finger/hand release and you can dump out the water. For cleaning the unit once you are done, you can either place it in the rinse tray, add water to the tray and run it on high for 15 seconds and leave it to dry or clean it manually by rinsing the front tank and roller brush. That's pretty much it. I don't have any bad things to say about the unit. It does what it claims to do and doesn't have issues that stand out as a deal breaker. I'd recommend the unit to anyone with hard floor surfaces and/or lots of small area rugs that need daily/weekly cleaning.

Is it running on windows 10? And What’s the speed how fast is it?

It's just a Bluetooth keyboard for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4,5,6,or 7. So no operating system. You need a Surface Pro to make it a laptop or working computer.

Does the laptop have a front camera and is it also the laptop with the key board?

It's just the keyboard. It works via Bluetooth with your existing Microsoft Surface Pro 4,5,6, or 7 tablet. Together they create a laptop. So no, no camera since it's not a computer, just a keyboard. The Surface Pro would have the camera.

Is this a laptop and keyboard

No, it's a Bluetooth keyboard that attaches to a Microsoft Surface Pro 4,5,6,or 7. You have to have one of those tablets and together they turn the tablet into something that works like a laptop.

Will this DVR system work with other non-night owl cameras (PAL)? I have some really nice wide angle, commercial grade cameras.

I'm across the pond, so NTSC, not PAL. I have a Lorex 4k system and this Night Owl 1080p system and they both use BNC connectors. I'm able to connect the Night Owl cameras to my Lorex DVR and it will automatically set them to 1080p with no issues. I'm guessing I could add the 4k cams to the Night Owl DVR, but they would probably downgrade to 1080p, so I didn't even bother. If your systems use BNC connectors and a male/female power cable, I'd say yeah, it should work.

Keep your kids safe online with this Circle Home Plus monitoring setup. The included device uses your router to manage every device on your network, and Circle App makes it simple to limit screen time, filter content, and check browsing histories. This Circle Home Plus monitoring setup is easy to set up and lets you create custom settings for each family member.

Is this product has app that can be accessed from cell phone? All I want is to have a control from my cell phone when to allow the kids to access internet or to limit their game time. Such as if I can set a certain time limit for the specific game.

Yes it will do that when the phone is connected to WiFi on your home network. The kids still can use 4G or your minutes to connect, so be careful. If they're locked out of WiFi, kids are smart enough or will just let the phone connect and you may go over your phone plan. As for you home network, all items, tablets, phones, pcs, macs etc will be visible to you on your phone. Each kid will have an account set up by you and on your phone you can limit their access, reward them for good behavior with extra time and set bedtime hours. You do need to purchase a subscription, 3 month, 1 year or lifetime. AND make sure you figure out how to limit their cellular access with services like AT&T Secure Family or whatever your provider offers.
