If you're looking for a camera beyond the point and shoot realm, and aren't into the smaller camera lens bodies, this is a good camera. The 24 MP and the advanced features really sell this thing. It's got legs and will provide me with years of growth into the manual settings. I think for someone looking to take the leap into better photography from the point and shoot realm, this is a good starting point. It isn't a full frame sensor but it's got a good average feature set for the medium skilled user. Less advanced users will have issues with the learning curve if they don't have patience to learn the system properly.

If it weren't for the great freebies offered, I'm not sure I'd own this. This camera case is for a user with 1 lens or two small lenses. If you have a larger lens like a 70-200mm it's not practical. Also, the straps in the buckles on the front keep coming out. Good quality bag, just not for people with a lot of camera equipment.

APC Back-UPS are rock solid

I have about 60 of these at work and they all perform excellent.
Of the 2 or 3 that have failed on me over the last 2 years, they all qualify for RMA. APC makes you pay to return ship the product though. Bleh on APC for being penny-pinchers.

Which is better for a 6yr old Ds or PSP?
A DS is definitely better than a PSP because the PSP titles seem to be geared more toward adults and the PSP is a bit more complicated as far as gameplay. I've had both systems now for a while and can guarantee much more fun with the DS system. I would recommend a DS Lite over the DSi as you'll have much more access to a larger gaming library.
