Right off the top, one disadvantage is that it's not an XLR microphone. You need the computer to make it work.
It's on a table mount. It's a great microphone - it's well tempered in noisy rooms and sounds great. I need this thing "mouth level" for a vocalist - it works great as a desk microphone, but wow, I am impressed.
The cons - I couldn't use this live. Too many weird problems. All the problems are typical of those talked about with USB microphones - no better or worse--nature of the thing. A similar setup without these issues would be $75 for an audio interface, and AT LEAST $350 for a microphone that performs well in unique environments.

This went on sale today for $29. I never knew it existed until I saw it online. I didn't know it was primarily a "smart device" - I was shopping for a bluetooth speaker. The online descriptions were accurate and honest. It's about the size of a computer speaker, with an alarm clock.
Setting it up - this only happened because I was patient. I tried 7 or 8 times. The Google HOME app would show it as being just fine. The device itself stated it needed to be set up. I reset my cable modem and after giving it a break, it's mysteriously updated to version 306 and just fine.
Bottom line - it's cool. Perfect for $29. More of a personal Google device than a bluetooth speaker for a small restaurant or cafe. It seems to have some privacy controls in place that prevents it from making calls or sending text messages. That's a plus. There's a microphone mute button. That's a plus also.
Con: Mediocre. Doesn't offer anything inspiring. Why can't I push a button and use it a baby monitor?

Timing placed me in a situation where I had to buy a new phone. I miss the Note 7. Samsung should have rolled out the floating s-pen features to all products... That never happened on my factory unlocked phone. Despite many reviews, this phone isn't too big and it's software features make my S7E feel obsolete. The ads do not convey how good of a phone this is.
Now that I have enough space to read things on phone again, I'm a bit irked this does not feature an S-Pen digitizer.
Bixby would have potential if it worked...
Battery lasts as long as my first Note 7.
Listening to music while doing yard work is fine too.
BestBuy is great but Samsung has provided little incentive to remain brand-loyal and since I trust BestBuy, I'll be watching the competition very closely.
