Based on the hit children's television series The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, this film has the teenage superheroes doing battle with the other-worldly villainess Divatox (Hillary Shepherd). She is the wife of an evil lord named Maligore who is imprisoned in an energy vacuum inside one of Earth's volcanos. Freeing him would mean doom for the universe. Divatox needs to bring a good wizard named Lerigot (Jon Simanton) to the volcano, because he has the key to unlocking the energy prison. Lerigot flees his planet and escapes to Earth just before Divatox's henchmen capture him. The five Rangers disguise themselves as ordinary teenagers, but their secret is discovered by ten-year-old Justin (Blake Foster), and he is allowed to don a power suit and become one of them. Zordon, the Power Rangers' boss, gives his crew extra powers to thwart Divatox, who with her pirates has captured a submarine. The showdown between the forces of universal good and evil includes plenty of karate and kick-boxing around a seething cauldron of lava.

Bad Boys I and II are featured in this special digitally enhanced collection. Former video director Michael Bay had his first big hit with the 1995 action comedy, which also returned producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson to the big-budget, high-violence movies that they successfully churned out in the '80s. Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are two Miami cops who watch as 100 million dollars in heroin, from the biggest drug bust of their careers, is stolen out of the basement of police headquarters. This puts them hot on the trail of French drug lord Fouchet (Tchéky Karyo), who leaves a trail of bodies in his wake and only one witness, Julie Mott (Téa Leoni), who quickly teams up with our heroes. In the 2003 sequel, Burnett and Lowrey have been assigned to head up a task force to investigate the illegal trafficking of ecstasy into the city. They discover that an underground gang war has been instigated by drug kingpin Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla). In order to cut off the flow of the designer drug, they have to take down Tapia.

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment releases this single-disc issue of Vertigo Comics' crass character John Constantine's big-screen debut. Containing the original widescreen presentation of the film, the disc comes with a stunning 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer along with Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks in both English and French. The picture quality is befitting to the unique look of the picture, which only looks better and better as time goes on. The disc not only shines with its fine presentation, but with its inclusion of 18 minutes of deleted scenes that feature an alternate ending and a cut storyline featuring Constantine and Michelle Monaghan as a demon seductress. Director Francis Lawrence provides optional commentary for the scenes, as well as a feature-length track along with producer Akiva Goldsman and screenwriters Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello that provides the viewer with insight on the filmmaking process of this adaptation. Add in the theatrical trailer, and you have a solid release that delivers just enough from the incredible 2 Disc Deluxe Edition to make it a worthwhile single disc investment for those low in the pocketbooks or not interested in substantial bonus features. This film is also available in the less-recommended single-disc full-screen version.
