I had first gotten one as a gift this past holiday season, and while I wasn’t thrilled (nothing to do with the product itself, I just didn’t feel like I needed a Bluetooth speaker), I gave it a shot and ended up loving it so much that, three months later, I bought myself a second one.
Now, one of these alone is a great speaker. The sound quality is outstanding, I occasionally bring it in to use it while I work, and I’ve had many coworkers comment on how great it is. It’s a great size, and features a tough, rugged design, which is apparently completely waterproof (haven’t tested this myself, but I take their word for it).
With the Boom 2 (and apparently any other UE Boom derivative speaker), you can use the app to “party up”, meaning you can sync supposedly up to 50 of these devices. Now I personally don’t have a need for 50 speakers, but I was interested in getting a second one when I read that with two speakers, you can change the sound output to stereo mode. Is it worth it? Yes, yes it is. The sound, while already quite excellent, becomes even richer.
The price may seem a bit steep, but you can occasionally find one of these for around $100 (as of this writing, I had gotten my second one for that price at my local store).

I had just been thinking how we as a people don’t really do anything with our pictures any more - they either just sit on our phones, or we download them to our computers and they sit there instead. And setting up your printer to print out a couple of photos seems like a hassle, so I was intrigued when I saw this pop up as a deal of the day. I had been searching for something for some family as a gift, and thought this would be a nice idea. They loved it. Set up is easy. Initially connecting phones to the printer was a hassle, but once we did, this thing is easy to use, and the print quality is fantastic.

After years of shaky uncertainty, the X-Men film franchise has taken solid step back on track, proving to be one of the great comic book film properties around. Matthew Vaughn helped get us started in the right direction with First Class, but then the production team came up with a brilliant idea to tie the new films in with the old, by adapting one of the most iconic and famous X-Men storylines of all time, Days of Future Past.
Bryan Singer returns to the directors chair, once again showing that he's the man to bring the X-Men to the screen. Don't get me wrong, Vaughn did a fine job with the previous film, but I felt like his own personal stamp was kind of missing. And here, Singer has the benefit of two incredible casts, joined together by the common thread that is Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Now, some people like complain about how Wolverine has become too much of a central character. First off, Jackman is outstanding in the role, and has come into it much as, dare I say, Sean Connery embodied the role of James Bond back in the 1960s (and this is coming from a massive James Bond fan). Secondly, yes, Jackman is front and center for the beginning of the movie, but the story quickly shifts focus to the broken Charles Xavier of the '70s, wonderfully played by James McAvoy. Just as it should be, this X-Men outing provides plenty of visual effects and action, but much plenty of wonderful character and emotional moments as well, making these characters ones to care about. And of course, there's the stand-out scene with Quicksilver, wonderfully played by Evan Peters. The story overall is very enthralling and engaging, but my biggest criticism is that it starts to drag a little bit towards the end and lose its momentum just a smidge.
I'm not going to delve too much more into the film, as there are thousands and thousands of others out there, and I would also like to get to the specifics of this Blu-ray. The picture and audio quality are outstanding, and some of the best I've seen. I had partially bought this on Black Friday for me to test out on my new home theatre set-up, and it's a blast to watch (and listen to). I haven't had a chance to dive into the extras, but even without them, this is a great disc to own.

Far from the show's best season, but still great

Right off the bat, let me say that (I think) the second and third seasons of Parks and Recreation are by far the best. It seemed to get the right balance and tone - the acting and characters were low-key and real enough that it made the wacky moments that much funnier. However, Season Five is where the characters really started becoming caricatures of themselves, and the show almost started taking on a cartoonish quality. Even so, it still remains one of the best comedies currently on television.

Excellent television on a budget

I've been looking to get an HDTV for my room, and after my family had gotten a 32" Insignia 1080 TV, I was impressed with its video and sound quality. So when Best Buy was offering this set for $180 during Black Friday (only $30 more than the 32" my family had gotten!), I thought it was time to bite. I was still a bit wary after reading some reviews here - some people said they had problems with it working after a year, and others had problems with the sound.
When mine arrived, I was immediately happy with the size - 40" is perfect for a big bedroom set, or still would make a satisfactory TV for a living room, but you don't need me to review that. The video is outstanding - I needed to tweak the picture a bit for color, but after I had, I've been incredibly satisfied with the picture quality, it's nice and clear. And the sound is nothing special, a little flat, but the TV's speakers provide plenty of volume. A couple of months after getting the TV, I got a sound bar, and all together, it makes for an excellent little man-cave home theatre system.

Possibly my favorite movie of the year. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a solid movie, providing a fresh update of a classic franchise, bringing something new to the table. However, it wasn't perfect. The style and tone were at times kind of generic, without any specific choices being made. But they succeeded in bringing Caesar to life, and making us care about a CGI-animated chimp, thanks to some ground-breaking special effects and a riveting performance by Andy Serkis. However, Dawn completely ups the ante - again, amazing animation and performances, but this time we have the benefit of Matt Reeves' vision. Whereas Rise lacked a style, Dawn has down. Not to say that this is a stylized movie, but the look and feel of it is very specific. And for a movie focused on a bunch of chimps, its incredibly emotional, and makes you feel connected with these characters. Yes, characters. These are very fleshed out characters, again brought to life by some excellent actors. And lastly, this Blu-ray offers incredible video and audio that makes this disc a must-buy.

Such an entertaining film that is incredibly re-watchable. The picture and sound quality are outstanding - I was originally going to hold off on buying this for budget reasons, but I had just gotten a new TV, and needed an awesome movie/Blu-ray to show off on it. Unfortunately, Disney tends to skimp on their Marvel discs, and this edition is Blu-ray only, not even a digital copy.

Excellent sound at an amazing price

Like many others here, I took a shot with this soundbar when it was offered as a deal of the day for $150. I had just bought an HDTV a couple of months before and while the sound on that was fine, I wanted to beef the sound up, and boy does this get the job done. Excellent sound, and its easy to set up. Also, as its Bluetooth enabled, you can listen to your music from your phone or tablet. Also, the design is nice and sleek. Overall, a great sound system, especially if you can get it on sale.

USB details
Can you play video files off of a thumb drive or portable HDD? If so which file formats are supported?
No, the TV only seems to let you display photos off a flashdrive.
