Pretty good little subwoofer

This is a pretty good little subwoofer. The sound it produces isn't "boomy" like normal surround sound subwoofers, but it definitely adds performance to the overall quality of sound. It's great that it's wireless, just plug the usb stick into the TV and viola!! It took literally 15 seconds to set this subwoofer up.

Sony XBR-65X900B 4K Ultra HD TV: This TV's Ultra HD resolution displays images with 4x the resolution of Full HD, and Triluminos technology provides an expanded color spectrum for outstanding picture quality. Plus, the wedge shape of the TV makes room for larger speakers and built-in subwoofers to bring you rich, deep sound.

Best 4K TV hands down

The Sony XBR-65X900B definitely exceeds my expectations. I researched many ultra high definition TV's and decided to go with this elite brand. The Sony TV does upscale all 1080 content to "near" 4K quality. The sound is awesome!!! I received the Sony wireless subwoofer as a promotion item for free, and it definitely accommodates the mid and high levels from the TV speakers. This TV also has the new H265 codec to allow streaming 4K content from Netflix (unlike last years Sony model X900a). My research paid off !!!! This TV is great!!!

Sony 4K Ultra HD Media Player: Immerse yourself in 4K entertainment with more than 200 4K movies available for download and Netflix streaming. You can also connect your 4K camcorder to watch your personal 4K videos and save them on the built-in hard drive.

Do I need to buy another receiver to use the 4k media player?

I already have a receiver to watch 3d.
No, you do not need another receiver to use the media player. Just use a second hdmi cable in the audio out port of the media player. The main hdmi port on the media player requires a receiver that supports HDCP 2.2 encryption. There are only a handful of receivers that currently support HDCP 2.2 pass through. Onkyo is The only manufacturer that I have found that currently makes them. But..... Sony was smart with this media player by offering a audio only hdmi port to bypass the new encryption standards.
