I'd previously had a Pioneer receiver at the upper end of the lower end price range. I was disappointed from the start, mad finally gave up on it. This Yamaha, at the lower end of the upper end, I'd a huge increase in sound quality. It has loads of features I'll not use, but it does what it is supposed to do well.
Setup is typical - several iterations of HDMI settings, etc. That was fine, and no different from other high quality A/V receivers. The remote is intuitive to use, but I programmed my Harmony hub to take its place.
I use an Apple TV, and Zone 2 wireless speakers. I was surprised to eventually figure out that I had to use digital-to-analog converters for both my DirecTV receiver (cheap & easy) and Apple TV (optical cable convertor from another online retailer, which involved a box with a smile on it, as BBY had nothing along these lines reasonably priced to offer, for $20) to listen to my Zone 2 wireless speakers. This was a pain, and took me a phone call or 2, and several days, to figure out. Other than this inconvenience, setup was no big deal.
Overall, I'm very satisfied, and hope not to replace this device for many years.

Great features for the money

Unlike my previous Logitech Harmony remote, this controls all the functions of all my components. It operates from the minimalist included remote, but also from our iPhones & iPads, with a terrific app. (I couldn't find the app in the Apple app store search, for some reason, but did find it here: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/harmony-smart-control).
The hub has to be close to the components, and my nearby power strip is already full. I would have preferred a longer power cord for the hub, to make this easier.

Great vision, not too heavy

We got these binoculars for what would be a long day of whale watching. They are lighter than I thought they would feel, and caused minimal arm fatigue. The magnification was excellent. Good ergonomics make them easy to focus and use.
I was unable to use my tripod with the tripod adapter on these binoculars, though, as the adapter points forward, on the front of the binoculars. My tripod didn't fit here, which was a bummer.

I got this camera, with the 35mm DX lens, and the 70-300 telephoto lens, before a very picture-heavy trip. I did not have as much time before the trip as I would've liked to learn the features to this camera. However, I got some fantastic pictures that I will cherish forever. With minimal expertise, I was able to get amazing wildlife photography done. I can't wait to learn more, and take advantage of all of the features on this camera.
Get the Wi-Fi adapter to transfer photos to a tablet while on vacation. This camera has two SD card slots, but it was great security to get their photos onto the cloud. Plus, the smartphone/iPad app doubles as a remote control.
