Some of Tony Jaa's Best Work

Tony Jaa did some of his best work in this trilogy. I do caution that the third film starts to drift and is not as engaging as the first two. Allegedly, it has to do with the fact Jaa was moving towards a sabbatical from film that was driven by religious motives and the film may have been reflective of that transition for Jaa. Having said that, the films are still worth watching as the the first two give a glimpse into various martial arts styles outside of Jaa's native Thai training.

Brings a Classic up to date

Often when updating classics, the remake can lose something. Not in this case. As a fan of the the original 1962 B&W release, I was not disappointed in this remake. Mr. Miike nailed it on the head. If you are a fan of the Samurai (Chanbara) genere, you won't go wrong.
