Make Two Short Cables One Long One

What do you do when you need to run a network cable from one place to another about 30' away and you only have a 25' cable and an 8' cable? Well, you can go to the store and buy a very expensive 50' cable, or you can use this very inexpensive coupler to make your two cables into a 33' cable!

What can I say, sometimes you just need a ethernet cord longer than 8 to 14 feet. This cord works well, is well built, and long! It might be a little pricy but, when you need it, it's worth it!

We all need more power outlets at some point, and this strip is a good value. I like the low profile, which makes it easy to hide either under, or behind furniture. My only negative comment would be that it doesn't have special ports for the wide "power converter" type plugs some devices use. But, those strips usually cost much more.

Who Doesn't Need More Electrical Plug Ports?

We were setting up our conference room for a computer session which would require us to have 4 desktop computers, 4 monitors, a laptop, a projector and an 8 port ethernet switch plugged in at the same time. I didn't want to run multiple power strips to the conference table from outlets in the walls, as someone might trip on them. So, I ran a single extension cord to under the table and connected this power strip to it. The 11 ports on this strip were just enough to hook everything up and it worked perfectly!

I buy these switches to provide internet \ network connections to all rooms of my house. My house is pre-wired for internet \ network in almost every room with a panel of 10 ethernet ports in the basement. The only challenge is to get the internet from the single out port on the modem to each port in the panel. After connecting the modem to my router, the router has 4 ports left that I can use, so I run from three of them to ports in the panel. I use the 4th port to run to the switch, leaving me 7 ports in the switch to run to the remaining 7 ports in the panel. I use another switch in my home office to connect my desktop computer, two printers, and network back-up drive to the network. These switches are a great value and anyone can hook them up in minutes.

Fantastic Bridge Camera

I use this camera as a back-up for my DSLR. The long zoom capability can't be beat. To achieve the same zoom on my DSLR would require purchasing a $15,000 lens. It has most of the same manual controls of a DSLR, but I wish the way you set, and control them, were more like my Nikon DSLR. I usually shoot in full manual mode, but I use the bird watching mode quite often. The picture quality is not quite as good as a DSLR with a good lens, but it's more than acceptable. I bought this to replace the earlier model P510, as the P600 has 60x zoom vs 42x, and the P600 lens is threaded for use of filters.

I was looking for a spare battery for my Nikon P510 "bridge" camera. Unfortunately, BestBuy doesn't carry the Nikon brand batteries for this camera even though they sell cameras that use it. I typically don't buy off-brand batteries, as I've had bad experiences in the past. However, I saw this battery on the discount rack for less than $10 and I decided it was worth the risk. So far, this battery has performed as well, or better, than the Nikon battery and much better than the Digipower brand batteries I have purchased previously.

I was looking for a fast memory card for my Nikon P510 "bridge" camera. I normally buy standard size Class 10 SDHC cards, but the salesman pointed out that this card was on sale and was faster than the full-size card. I was hesitant to buy the micro card because I had always been told they are less durable than the full-size, but I decided to take the chance. I am very happy with that decision, as it has proven to be super fast and (so far) I've had no durabilty problems.
