I researched 4K TV's for weeks and no matter what I found from the big names such as Sony, Samsung or LG...nothing could match what Hisense gives you at this price point. This might have been one of the first TVs I looked at but I immediately blew it off as being an off market brand. Funny thing is, I just kept being led back here as the big three kept charging more and providing less. Hard to find a 50" set with HDR for $500....plus a 4 year warranty. After all that I still wasn't sold till I read that Hisense bought up Sharp...that tells me they are in this for the duration. Like most everyone here has said, great picture quality...it even kicks your 1080P picture up a couple notches with some nice upconverting.
Last thing. I saw that some were buying sound bars...don't waste your money. This thing has the best sound I've heard on a flat screen and with plenty of volume. I watch it regularly with the volume set to 15.

Be careful

After just 2 weeks the TV either won't turn on or the volume won't work unless I unplug the TV and plug it back in. I waited past the 14 days to report it so Best Buy will not do anything for me unless I pay 99 dollars for the service call plus parts for what is broke.

Make sure the A/C plug is firmly seated. I had this problem as well until I discovered the A/C plug wasn't pushed in all the way in the back of the TV.. Hasn't happened since.

Best Buy customer service stinks

I previously posted a review about this TV and the TV is great this is about Best Buy's terrible customer service and return policy. When me and my wife purchased the TV it was $499 and this week it's on sale for $379 so we wanted to get a price adjustment and Best Buy customer service told us it was nothing they can do because we were outside of the return date by 4 days. I think that's real bad customer service considering I've been shopping at Best Buy for over 16 years and $120 is a lot of money considering we just bought the TV 19 days ago and my personal opinion 15 days is a bad return and price adjustment policy on TV. Considering that we just spent $500 plus tax 19 days ago Best Buy customer service should have been willing to work with us for thumps down for customer service thumbs up on the TV great TV.

The picture quality is pretty good

Overall the tv has good features for the price but in two weeks the remote control and control button on back have been unresponsive three times already. The fix is to unplug and plug back in the tv which is the suggestion I have seen from other buyers.

This is the second and last time I will post this. The problem is that the plug in the back of the TV is not properly seated. My TV did this once and I found that the plug going to the wall outlet was not tightly seated on the TV end. Once that was addressed, it hasn't happened since.

power malfunction?

Sometimes I have to literally unplug the unit from the wall and replug in to get the unit to turn on. Picture is great. Wish I would have got a Samsung.

This has been posted here and other places as well. Make sure the power line is seated properly in the back of the TV....once it is, the problem goes away.

I have the 50" model of this TV which is very similar. Make sure the power cable is firmly seated in the back of the TV....once I did that, my problems were over with the set shutting itself down.
