If you want to watch TV, but your spouse/partner wants to read (or vice versa), so that both of you are happy, this is the device for you! The ABC-53F has a very small footprint next to/under/behind the TV, and there are 3 ways to connect it to the TV. After you determine which method you want to use, simply follow the graphic to make the TV connection. Then, follow the simple Bluetooth pairing steps; and you are good to go. It can all be done in minutes!

I have some other smart bulbs that work very well, so I was interested in the Sengled product, as the package offered seem as if it would be a good one to try out. Even though it requires a hub, and my others don’t. Also, information provided said these bulbs could be used with Amazon Echo without the hub.
When I tried to connect the hub to my home network (AT&T U-Verse router/modem), very carefully following the instructions provided, it failed. I tried it several more times with no success. So, I tried to connect them to my Echo via the Sengled app. That was unsuccessful. The next day, I again tried several times to connect the hub. No success! Next, I called Sengled tech support for assistance and was quickly connected with a tech rep, who was excellent in communication skills and product knowledge. We spent over a half hour trying various things in an attempt to make a connection. Nothing worked! Finally, she suggested I contact AT&T to see if they could assist me. I don’t fault the tech rep at all, but the product simply doesn’t work with my network for some reason. As an aside, I have no issues with any other devices I have previously installed. Also, she advised the bulbs don’t work with Echo without the hub. If they did, I would have been happy with that.
The bottom line is the Singled product is a zero for me. I have rated 2 stars, because the tech rep was 5 star. It’s not her fault the product doesn’t work with my network for some unknown reason.

The Canon Ivy is a mini-printer that produces almost instant mini-photos. It’s one of the coolest devices that I have seen in a while.
The Ivy comes with a short USB cable for charging the lithium-ion battery. (Note: Printer can operate while charging.) Once charged, its small size makes it easily portable so you can print anywhere on the spot. Also, included is a 10 pack of print paper with a mysterious blue card…don’t toss it out! Follow the instructions on the card or those in the app regarding the card. Importantly, you will need to download the app (either Android or Apple) before you are ready to print. Connect with your phone/tablet via Bluetooth, and you are good to go.
For a test run, I used the app to select a photo from my phone. It very quickly and quietly produced an excellent photo. (Note: For your first time print, don’t panic when the blue card comes out. It comes out first, because it’s done its job. The photo quickly follows. For the rest of the pack, it’ll only be the photo.) Photos are small (2”x3”), so the Ivy is not for heavy lifting; it’s for fun. One example: picture yourself at a gathering of friends, family, or whatever. You could take souvenir pictures to share, print them off, and give them away on the spot. In addition, the app provides several options for your photo (add text, emojis, etc.). Paper packs are available in 20, and 50 packs (Note: Only 10 sheets can be loaded at the time.), for an average cost per pic is about $0.50.
I am a long time user of Canon printers, and they consistently produce excellent photos, so I was excited about the possibilities of the Ivy for more fun with pics. The first time I tried it, I loved it! Yes, if you want to have fun with photos, customize them, and print on the spot, the Ivy is not going to disappoint you.

A Worthy Bot

The R7065 with its new design and added features joins an excellent family of Samsung robotic vacuums. I have owned a Samsung bot vac (R980020) for almost two years and have been very happy with it. My downstairs flooring is all wood, and that is where it is used exclusively. I was interested it the new R7065 for my upstairs which is carpeted, except for wood in the bathrooms.
Getting started is easy. Take it out of the box, let it charge, press start on either the vac or the remote, and it’ll back out of the dock and start running the default pattern. There are a couple of other ways to control the operation, and I mention them a bit later.
One of the nice features of the R7065 is the straight line front and the squared corners. This design allows better cleaning along baseboards and in corners, a problem with rounded fronts. In addition, the R7065 has updated mapping skills, allowing it to learn your layout pretty quickly. It’s updated sensing of furniture, walls, etc. is also very good.
The height of the vac is such that it can more easily get under beds or furniture than some of its predecessors. If you have an adjustable bed, given the wiring, etc. under it, you might not want the vac to go there. If that’s not a problem, then let the vac work, because it’d be a great way of minimizing dust collecting under there.
There are 3 power options: high provides the most suction, reducing somewhat for each of the two lower levels. That said, be aware that high is very loud, with sound level also reducing with each lower level. On hard floors, the lower suction/noise levels is still sufficient for cleaning. Trying the vac out for the first time, I tossed cereal crumbs in several areas of my kitchen and dining floors. I ran the vac on the middle setting and was pleased to find it eventually got all of the crumbs. There was one area where it partially picked the crumbs and moved on leaving the rest, which was disappointing. However, it came back later and finished the job, so all good. Upstairs, with the carpet/wood combo, the vac still performed excellently, easing shifting between the two surfaces.
The R7065 comes with a boundary marker strip, which is a nice feature if there is someplace you don’t want it to go. Using the vac on the second floor, I placed the marker at the top of the stairs. The first time the vac approached, it did not stop at the marker. Before it took a dive, I stopped it, and turned it around. The second time it approached the marker it was more careful. So, the marker can be beneficial, but the top of a flight of stairs may not be the best place to fully rely on it.
Staying power is also very important, and the vac performed well in that area. I checked it out by using it both up and down stairs (about 1800 square feet). The job was done on a single charge, so no worries for an average size house.
There is a lot to be said for the R7065. The same cannot be said for controlling it via the app or by voice.
The app can be found on both Google Play and the Apple device, depending on which phone/tablet you use. The voice command is via Amazon Alexa. Neither of these works well enough for bragging rights.
Thankfully, you don’t need either for the R7065 to do its job! There’s always the remote.

As the app/voice issues don’t really impact the excellent functionality of the R7065, I don’t hold them against it. The R7065 does a great job vacuuming, and I do recommend it.

Small Size, Big Sound

I have long been a Sony fan for entertainment electronics, and the SP600N does not disappoint.
In the box, in addition to the headphones, are a USB cable for charging and several sizes of soft ear bud covers. First charge the battery, download the app from either Google Play or the Apple Store (Yes, it works on either.), then make a Bluetooth connection to your music source, and you are good to go.

For my intended use, listening to music on my deck, I Bluetooth connected the phones to my Amazon Echo, which was a very quick and easy process. It didn’t even require an app download. When up and running, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality (treble and bass). Then, out to the deck, and the music stayed with me, and it stayed with me on out into the backyard. The bottom line is, there is no loss of sound quality within a very reasonable parameter. Since the first test, I’ve noticed occasional sputtering when outside, but it’s not enough to condemn the phones. I might take off half a star, but only whole numbers allowed, and it is more 5 star than 4.
Another very nice feature is noise cancelling, and I can attest to the job these phones do. While I was on the deck, lawn mowing and yard maintenance was being done. The loud noise from the gas powered weed/grass trimmer was greatly diminished and did not prevent me from enjoying my music. Lesser sounds were simply unheard.
My only issue is one that I have with all similar devices. It’s the tiny little controls that are difficult to see, as they are the same color as the device itself. In this case, it’s white on white. Small devices require even smaller controls, so one deals with it. However, that issue has no bearing on the quality sound reproduction from the SP600N. For my use, the size of the controls doesn’t matter; because, with the Echo connection, I can control it by voice via Alexa. So, it’s all good.
If you want big sound from a practically weightless device and not be bothered by peripheral noise, you won’t go wrong with the SP600N!

The Rexing V1 Dash Cam is a small device that does a big job. There are a couple of ancillary things that cause some inconvenience, but they don't affect performance.
Read the setup instructions carefully, and setup will be easy. First, be sure you install an appropriate micro SD card (up to 128GB), or you won't have any recordings to look at. Next, position the V1 on you windshield as instructed. Plug it in, and you are ready to go. No muss, no fuss.
When plugged in the V1 will automatically power on when engine starts, and power off shortly after engine shutdown. If you plug into an always on outlet, it will stay on, of course. There is also a manual on/off button on the cam. The wide viewing range allows capture of more than what is directly in front of you, which is a very nice feature. Capture is full HD in color. It's also sharp enough to capture a license plate number.
The inconveniences, as mentioned earlier, are: Positioning the cam as shown in the manual places it where the driver can't readily get to the various small controls on the cam. I like it closer to the driver. Secondly, unless you want to position the charging cable as shown in the manual, there's a lot of cable to deal with. Both of these reflect a personal preference; but, as said, they have no negative impact on the performance of the V1.
The V1 does an excellent job, and it is reasonably priced. I certainly would recommend it.

The DP04 is a bladeless fan, as well as an air purifier, designed to clean the air in an entire room. It looks and size would seem to make it a cousin of C3PO; except, unlike C3PO, it sits wherever you put it and quietly does its job. I have been running mine for several days now and have no operational complaints so far.
Assembly is very easy. Remove from box, install the HEPA and carbon filters, and plug it in. Then, download the Dyson app to your phone and/or tablet, and connect the device to your home network. The DP04 also accepts voice commands via Amazon Alexa; however, this where the biggest shortcoming arises. The app itself works fine, allowing you to control the device via phone/tablet. The voice command function is essentially useless. The device easily pairs with Alexa; but it’s downhill after. You may execute one or two commands easily enough, but Alexa will soon not recognize the device. Deleting the app and reloading did not change the failure of the voice command feature. Read the app reviews, and you will see lots of comments on this issue. I don’t know if it’s a Dyson problem or an Alexa problem. In any event, there is your phone or tablet, as well as the included remote control that works very well.
As to operation, that’s where the DP04 shines. As said, put it where you want it, use the automatic operation setting, and it will quietly do its job of circulating and filtering the air. The operation can be monitored and/or changed via the app. It is amazingly quiet on settings below maximum air flow, and that’s not really a bother either. There are 10 speeds to choose from, and air flow can be directed front or rear. You can even tilt it and choose oscillation, if you wish, so the air is not blowing straight out. In short, set your parameters, run it on the automatic setting, and it will cycle on/off as needed, making for worry-free operation. There is also a night function that dims the lighting on the small activity monitoring screen, which could be especially important if you put the device in your bedroom. Bottom line is there is lots of versatility of operation packed into the DP04, which is great and especially given the price.
With the exception of the voice command failure, for which I would deduct half a star, if allowed, this is a very nice and functional device. So, with the voice command caveat and given the otherwise great operation, I would certainly recommend the DP04.

The 6100 is a very nice rechargeable toothbrush. It comes charged and ready to go right out of the box, though Philips recommends you charge it after first use. There are three intensity settings and three brushing settings, thus providing several combinations of choices for operation. It also features a timer program that beeps after about each 30 seconds of use to better ensure your brushing time is within recommended 2 minute timeframe for brushing.
I can’t speak to whether the whitening function actually works, because I haven’t had the devise long enough to know that. However, combined with a whitening toothpaste, it probably is effective.
While I like the 6100, there are two things I consider shortcomings, hence the 4 star rating. First, an annoyance: the brush itself is very small, and the first couple of times I tried using the device, the toothpaste fell off before I got it into my mouth. So, I use extra care in getting it to my mouth. Second, the 6100 comes with only one brush. If you are sharing the device with anyone or just need a replacement for yourself, you will need to purchase new brushes, and they can be a bit pricey.
Overall, the 6100 is a good product, and I would recommend it with the caveat of the two things I deem shortcomings. If they wouldn’t bother you, go for it.

This security system is SimpliSafe's new and improved product. It's hard to improve on excellence, but they appear to have done it.
First, the installation is very easy. Follow the instructions and your system will be up an running in very little time and with little effort. Locate the spot you want a sensor, peel the tape, and stick it on. If seated properly, there should be minimal concern of it coming off. Although, there is a method to remove it, if you want to relocate it. Once the sensors are installed, they are recognized by the master unit.
Should you need help with installation or anything else, their customer service is excellent! Calls are promptly answered, especially in the support area, and the people you speak with are courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Monitoring is 24/7, and if your power goes down, the system will continue to operate up to 24 hours. There is a choice between two levels of monitoring. Whichever you choose, the price will leave money in your pocket, when compared with the competition.
This particular grouping out of the box is for a small area, as there are only two sensors. However, additional sensors, camera, etc. are available a la carte.
One thing to be aware of if you already have the prior security system and are interested in upgrading, the current sensors are not compatible with the new system, so you will need to replace them.
SimpliSafe is perhaps the greatest value in home security systems that you will find and with no contract required. I definitely would recommend to a friend. Actually, I have friends and neighbors already using SimpliSafe, and all are pleased.

Gotta Love It

I love this speaker! The SRS-XB31 is an excellent new addition to Sony's line of portable Bluetooth speakers, and it's winner in my book. I have an earlier model which I like very much, but I wanted to try this one. It paired very quickly with my Echo and then began to amaze me. It remained solidly paired to my Echo throughout my 2 story house, as well as out into my backyard.
Sound quality is excellent, especially the bass tones which are solid but not obtrusive. It sounds better than some more costly speakers I am aware of.
If having a party and you want to hear the music in different areas, this speaker can be linked with other wireless speakers to provide music wherever you want it.
While music is playing, there are lights of various colors that that flash, blink, etc. I was concerned the lights would be a drain on the battery, but no worries. The battery life is excellent: Sony says up to 24 hours. I won't quarrel with that, because the first day I had it, it played for a few hours, and on the second day, without recharging, it played most of the day, still going strong when I shut it off. When it is time to charge, you can use pretty much any standard USB connection.

This is an outstanding speaker, and I most definitely recommend it to a friend.
Sound quality is excellent, especially the bass tones which are solid but not obtrusive. It sounds better than some more costly speakers I am aware of.
If having a party and you want to hear the music in different areas, this speaker can be linked with other wireless speakers to provide music wherever you want it.
While music is playing, there are lights of various colors that that flash, blink, etc. I was concerned the lights would be a drain on the battery, but no worries. The battery life is excellent: Sony says up to 24 hours. I won't quarrel with that, because the first day I had it, it played for a few hours, and on the second day, without recharging, it played most of the day, still going strong when I shut it off. When it is time to charge, you can use pretty much any standard USB connection.
