this may very well some of the best work in rozz's prolific career & i have only one small complaint. i wish we could hear moe of his voice or possibly more tracks. other than that, dream home heartache is quite simply a masterpiece. what baffles me, however, is why best buy chose to categorize this work as hardcore or punk but that's anyones guess i suppose. rozz williams' has a very charming voice for a cabaret or gothic vocalist which may remind one at time of david bowie or even peter murphy. it saddens me that he is not still with us but i'm glad his music is still in print for fans to enjoy. gitane demone also matches rozz step for step with her fantastic vocal gymnastics. obviously, listeners will find a few covers here including the title track in every dream a heartache is actually some may find slighlt disturbing. there is also a jimi hendrix cover here manic depression which gitane gives the chillling touch interwoven with spoken word poetry by none other than rozz williams himself. having said that, my favorite track is still flowers which is perhaps one of the most heartfelt piano ballads ever written by a goth artist. definately worth owning & i have never grown tired of it. dream home heartache is clear evidence that rozz, himself, was no less than a lyrical genius aming other things.
fans of world music will relish now that niyaz has dropped their latest work of art. in fact, fans of the prolific azam ali should flock to stores immediately as this may very well be one of the finest cds we will have the pleasure of hearing this year. azam's voice is in top form once again & the musicians certainly aren't slouches either. whereas most groups or contrabands suffer from the sophomore curse, nine heavens actually is a better album in many ways than the debut was. what's even more special is that we have not one but two fantastic cds to listen to here. the songs on disc two are actually the same songs but the instrumentation sounds somewhat different giving us yet another great listen for our bucks. side one is essentially more electronic & side 2 could be classified as world folk music perhaps. give this new cd a listen & i'm sure you'll see what i'm raving about right now.
anyone remotely familiar with pedro almodovar's previous work will undoubtedly vouch for his cinematic brilliance. to date, this may very well be one of his most gentle or heartfelt pieces which reinforces the importance of family bonds. volver is filled with intelligient dailgoue, frothy humor, & even a bit of suspense which should surely delight it's viewer. penelop cruz has given the best performance of her entire career & probability suggests we will more great things from her in the future. i can't speak highly enough of almodovar's latest. just see it if you haven't already!
What's great about it: great performance by penelope cruz
