I am unable to provide a performance review of the Swann ActiveReponse Personal Safety Alarm. because I have not been able to pair the device with my iPhone. I downloaded the Swann app onto my iPhone, then I went through all of the onscreen prompts until I reached "Pair Device." That is where everything stopped. The screen said the app was “looking for devices” for over 30 minutes, but it never got beyond that point. Before reaching that stage of things, I had installed the Swann app, initiated and activated my Swann account, verified my email address, and enabled location services on my iPhone, and the phone and the device were sitting next to each other and within five feet of my wi-fi modem – so neither access nor proximity should have been a problem. I am quite disappointed. I think I am the target customer for the Swann Active Response Personal Safety Alarm, because five or six days a week I go for 2-hour walks by myself on rough terrain. I would like to have such a device ready for use if I ever need it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

These headphones have excellent features for the price, but they have two drawbacks that lowered my evaluation of them. The main drawback is the controls. When I initially charged them, an amber light let me know they weren’t at full charge. Otherwise, the controls have no lights or other indicators to let me know if the headphones are on or off or anything else. That might not bother someone else, but it has made them impractical for me to use. The second drawback is what, for me, are poorly fitting ear cups. My ears are not particularly large or small, but I found these headphones uncomfortable – something that is, of course, a very individual thing. If you have no problem with the controls and find the ear cups comfortable, then these headphones might be a good option for you. They have a very long battery life and offer decent noise cancellation. There’s an app that allows you to adjust the settings, and (after I was able to determine that they were actually on) I found them easy to pair with my iPhone for streaming. So, these are a good, economical set of headphones – just not for me.

I am a graphic designer, which means I work with large image files. This tiny device holds a lot of data – 2TB, and a 4TB device is available – which makes it a great way to take projects to a client’s office or a remote workplace. The programs I use for creating and editing graphics can cause a mediocre storage device to function at a snail’s pace and become very frustrating. However, this Crucial xX10 Pro is also fast.
How fast is it? I am using the latest US 3.2 Gen 2 2x2 interface, but I don’t have the expertise to do technical measurements of data transfer rates. I just know that the Crucial X10 pro lets me open and work with those large image files with no noticeable slowdown vs working on one of my desktops.
Crucial has promised to make a utility available in September 2023 to enable users to lock/unlock the data with a password and use it on both Windows and Mac computers. I use both, so that will be useful for me. It comes with a 5-year limited warranty, which suggests Crucial believes in its longevity, but I haven’t had it long enough to speak to its actual longevity or durability. Meanwhile, it’s a very welcome addition to my work gear.

I have been using the XB100 to listen to classical music and podcasts in my home office, walking around my house, and while out in my yard. (I prefer remaining alert while I’m on a run, so I haven’t used it then.)
After charging the XB100 (for 4+ hours), it almost instantly paired with my iPhone. I have not bought a second speaker, so I can’t try pairing it with another one. I also have not tested out the length of battery life beyond using it several days in a row before recharging it.
One difference from its predecessor is its surface, which has a texture that is visually unobtrusive but helps prevent it from slipping out of my hand. Mine is black, with the logo etched into it rather than printed white or some color. Although I don’t intend to test the XB100’s water resistance, I do appreciate that it’s rated as waterproof.
I am not a serious audiophile, so I won’t try to discuss the XB100’s sound specifications and capabilities. I will just say that its sound quality is very good, despite the lack of any stereo separation. And, when it’s 10 feet away on a separate table, the bass notes still cause my work desk to vibrate.
The one big drawback, which it shares with its predecessor, is charging it. It does not charge wirelessly, and it comes with a VERY short cable – less than 12” long. The cable is so short that I had a hard time finding an outlet in my house that was low enough to the floor or a countertop that I didn’t have to set the XB100 on something to keep from having it dangle in the air. There also was no power adapter, so I had to scrounge around in my stash of old adapters to hook it up. (Could I charge it from my desktop computer? No, the ports on my computer are otherwise occupied.) The only suitable outlet I found is in one of my bathrooms, very close to a sink – maybe I will end up testing its water resistance.

I am a graphic designer and spend long hours each day on my computer doing very detailed work that requires highly accurate vision. I then spend time on my iPad drawing, scanning social media, and reading. By the end of the day, I am feeling the effects of the strain on my eyes. A couple of weeks ago, my ophthalmologist recommended that I try some Gamer Advantage glasses to help lessen that strain. I took his advice, and I’ve now used the Gamer Advantage Inferno Sleeper Lens glasses for about a week. I am very happy with the results. There is no color distortion, and the clarity is excellent. I now can end my work day when I choose, not because my eyes have given out. And, I don’t know if it’s a placebo effect or not, but I also am finding it easier to fall asleep at night.
The only negative comment I have to make is about the little logo that’s etched at the upper outside corner of the left lens, at the edge of vision for my right eye. If I didn’t do graphic design work, which uses every bit of my vision, I might not notice it. But that is my work, and I do notice it.

We have a big dog and a couple of cats, with both hardwood floors and area rugs and runners. But, the first test I had for the Bissell SurfaceSense Pet Multi-Surface Vacuum was human hair. I have been doing my husband’s haircuts for many years, and the day the new vacuum arrived it was time to cut his hair. We usually go outside for this, but this day it was too chilly – and I had a new vacuum!
The cut hair fell on both the hardwood flooring and a runner rug, so it was a perfect test. The Bissell passed with flying colors. It adjusted to rug and hardwood instantly upon going onto each surface, and it pulled my husband’s fine little hairs out of the rug with a single pass. Here are some other observations:
• This vacuum is not light, but it is maneuverable.
• The cord is quite long, and I was able to go into a couple of adjacent rooms without having to move the plug to a different outlet.
• In the past, I have had a hard time keeping up with vacuum attachments, but these fit easily and securely onto the vacuum without getting in the way.
• The LED lighting at the front of the vacuum is very bright and well placed and angled for highlighting the path ahead of the vacuum and underneath furniture.
• The vacuum is fairly large and so doesn’t fit into tight spaces, but that’s where the attachments come into play. I especially like that the crevice tool is lighted, so I can actually see into the crevice I need to clean.
• Because I have had the Surface Sense vacuum for only a few days, I cannot comment on its durability.
• I haven’t needed to empty the dust bin yet, but it is easy to remove.
• I like that the filters can be cleaned. There is a second set of filters included, so one set can be in use while the other one is getting thoroughly dry.
• The cord is quite long, and I was able to go into a couple of adjacent rooms without having to move the plug to a different outlet.

I have found the Beurer BM76 Blood Pressure Monitor to be easy to set up and use. It goes on the upper arm, which my doctor has told me is more dependable than measuring on the wrist or a finger.
It was very simple to set up, connect via Bluetooth with my iPhone, and begin using. The box included more directions that many of the tech products I have gotten in recent years. And, although I have not yet asked the staff at my doctor’s office to test it for accuracy, its readings have been in line with what my typical readings have been when measured by medical personnel.
The Bluetooth capacity gives me a record of my readings and the ability to share that record with my physician. Moreover, my spouse and I can both use it, and it will keep a record for each of us (and 2 additional people, if needed). Beurer makes several other Bluetooth-capable medical devices, and, at my doctor’s suggestion, I now plan to start using its Bluetooth pulse oximeter.

I have been using the SRS-XB13 to listen to classical music and podcasts in my home office, walking around my house, and while out in my yard gardening. (I am not attending any gatherings on the beach or around a grill in this still COVID-affected world.)
I am not a serious audiophile, so I won’t try to discuss the SRS-XB13’s sound specifications and capabilities. Frankly, I don’t look for high technical quality in an inexpensive, highly portable speaker. I will just say that its sound quality is very good, despite the lack of any stereo separation. And, when it’s 10 feet away on a separate table, the bass notes still cause my work desk to vibrate.
The one big drawback with the SRS-XB13 is charging it. It does not charge wirelessly, and it comes with a VERY short USB-C cable – less than 12” long. This webcam is serviceable and adequate. The picture and sound are good enough for the kinds of virtual meetings and events we are engaging in these days, but nothing special. Of course, I would not expect professional-quality video and audio at this price point. The one thing I would expect, though, is some instructions. This webcam is, indeed, plug and play, but there are no instructions about how to improve the picture quality or make any kind of adjustments. (Perhaps it's not possible to make any adjustments.) It’s become the norm for companies not to include any printed instructions in the box, but usually you can access a manual online. If there is an online manual for this webcam, Google and I have been unable to find it on the manufacturer’s website or anywhere else.

We have a 2-story house that has both hardwood floors and carpets, as well as two cats and a large dog. We already had a powerful upright vacuum and a very capable canister vacuum, but the Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet Cordless Vacuum has several advantages over those. Because it is cordless, it can go from room to room without my having to keep unplugging and re-plugging it in or maneuver around a cord. That convenience is accompanied by the convenience of being able to change the setting (from Brush Off, to Carpet, to Multi-Surface) with a quick touch of a button that’s conveniently located on the top of the canister. No more bending down and repositioning a stubborn brush unit.
The suction is impressively powerful. I can see it dragging in dust bunnies from all sides, and when it is on the Carpet setting, it does a great job of pulling up animal hair and deep-seated grime. I especially appreciate its power, maneuverability, and light weight for use on our carpeted stairway and the portion of our rugs under our beds.
The battery is sufficient to vacuum our entire not-small house on a single charge. The dirt cup is easy to empty, and the filter, separator, and brush roll are, as well. I will never enjoy vacuuming my floors, but the Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet Cordless Vacuum makes that chore pretty easy. And, because it is compact and isn’t a pain to get out and drag around, I keep it handy and find myself vacuuming things on an as-needed basis, instead of waiting to do the whole house all at once. It’s good addition to our home.

Will this product cover a 2000 sq. ft., one level house with only one (1) WiFi Name? The reason for this question is I'm currently using an extension to my router which has given the front of the house a different wifi name from the back of the house.
The Orbi router and its satellite's signal are transmitting throughout our 2,400 square foot house with only 1 Wi-Fi name.

Most wireless computer mice show a tiny square piece that comes (usually displayed to the right) with the mouse. What is the name of this device? Can it be bought by itself? Will this piece work with any wireless mouse?
I don't know the technical name for this tiny square piece or if it is interchangeable among all wireless mice, but it is the USB item that plugs into the computer and communicates with the mouse.
