This is my second portable DVD/CD reader/writer. I use it for making CDs for client handouts as well as watching movies. It's a great way to make multiple copies of the CDs and the gentle whirring lets you know it is writing. CDs with documents are a great way to save paper too. Just don't let it sit out when not in use as dropping it can cause it to mess up sooner and break. A lot cheaper than buying a laptop with DVD/CD drive!

I had the same question then found an office supply store that had it in stock for a higher price so I went to Best Buy online and got it. Also have an ASUS laptop that has been best computer I've ever had.

Can this device play chapter DVDs
I would like to use this player to watch workout DVDs with various short chapters. I've had trouble with other players that didn't work. Does this play short chapter DVDs as well as movies?
Yes if the DVD is formatted with chapters similar to scene selection in regular DVDs

Can I copy songs from a disk onto my iMac in iTunes?
I can do this in Windows so it is most likely doable in iTunes too.

Will it play mini CD's
It's compatible with M discs. I don't have any to try it out though.

The drive, all of a sudden will not copy any discs I put into it. It runs for a few seconds and then shuts down. Do I need to replace it?
Go back to previous screen and try again by clicking on burn/rip disc.

1. Is this compatible with macbook and windows 10? 2. How do you install? Is there software? If there is software and macbook DOES NOT have an internal drive, do I use this external drive to install cd?
Yes. Box says compatible with all Windows 10-XP as well as OS 10 or higher. Super easy to install. There is software but I didn't need to use it as my computer recognized it and downloaded it automatically. You can probably download directly from the LG website too. If you have a newer computer then it will most likely recognize the device and do the auto download too. Connects to your computer with USB port. It also has TV connectivity.
