Small SSD, comes with USB cable, once connected to Windows 10 it recognizes it automatically, no drivers needed. Material quality is not so solid as aluminum, it's cheap plastic. Data speed transfers fast enough, but not as fast as an internal drive, though. When transferring a large amount of data at once the drive gets very hot, hot enough that I couldn't hold it my hands.

I think this is the best laptop I have ever owned. It just feels so mobile, powerful enough and comfortable, and keyboard (purchased separately) has a perfect feel, but expensive! The screen is probably the best in its class so clear and crispy. I really don't feel like buying those folding ugly standard laptops after trying this one. I did travel with it for 2 weeks making a lot of videos and photos and run out of memory really fast, in a week. 256 gigs hard drive is just too small these days. I had to buy an external SSD drive, and an additional 256gig MicroSD card (good it has a slot for it), although it's placed not in a very logical spot, in the back behind fold-stand. I did a few video edits in 4k using PowerDirector, and performance feels not as smooth, with some slight delays during editing. I'm wondering if i7 w/ 16gb of memory can handle it better, video card might be a bottleneck in high demanding video performance. But overall; this laptop can handle just about anything you throw at it. It's so quiet even under heavy use, and heat is low when running heavy applications.

I use it for my Surface Pro 4. It holds surface with or w/o keyboard just fine. Good quality materials and protection for the screen. The only missing option is to half fold it so it could stand like 30-45° percent angle. On an airplane table or when you sit too close to the computer, it stands too tall.
