I installed this on my 50" plasma alone. A little sketchy, but doable obviously.
The only bad thing about it is that it takes awhile to learn to trust it. When the tv is pulled out away from the wall, it looks like this mount shouldn't be able to support that much weight. After doing that a few times you come to trust the strength of this high quality product.
