I already own an Amazon echo and wanted one in the bedroom so I purchased this product. I find that the mics on the Echo Dot are better than the original and can hear me from different corners of the room. It's great to have one on the night stand for news and my home automation needs. Best part about this Echo is the ability to add external speakers which in my opinion makes it better than the original because you don't have to sacrifice sound quality and still benefit from Alexa integration.

Dialogue run through my TV's speaker is muddled and difficult to understand. I'm wondering if this speaker could be wirelessly connected to the TV so I could have it close enough to me that I stand a better chance of understanding the dialogue.
The speaker is not really designed for TV use but if you want it closer you may need to purchase a Bluetooth receiver to connect to your TV.
