Blind bought and pleasantly surprised

I bought this incidentally looking for a 2.1 speaker system. The system I was looking for was sold out and I've came across this product, which was more expensive but what really caught my eye besides the Dolby certificates was the subwoofer because I am a guilty bass head. I bought this being my first sound bar and I am happy with it, it's easy to hook up and use and the sound quality is great especially the bass. It comes with a optical cord so I can plug it into my gaming counsel, it has easy Bluetooth capabilities so I can connect my phone and listen to music. It comes with a AUX cord so I can plug additional devises into the sound bar. It's a very good system, but it's not perfect; it has only three sound equalizers for music, movie and game, you can't control the subwoofer levels as you want( if you wanted it up more or down less), it turns off automatically after some odd minutes it's a nit pick, sure. But a main con about this system is the lack of a controller; you have to turn the power on/off, turn volume up/down, change equalizers, turn Dolby effect on/off and change sound outlets ALL on the actual sound bar which is annoying... It's okay, you can laugh at my basic first world problem about the product. But overall I am very pleased with this system, just wished it had a remote or it can be controlled by my phone.

Terrific movie, terribly mediocre Blu-Ray

This is a fantastic film, but regarding the Blu Ray release I was under the impression that (since this is a Anniversary release) this would be a newly remastered disk with new special features. I haven't own this film on Blu Ray before only the special edition DVD so I was expecting at least those features carried over from that release, I was wrong on both accounts. As much as I love this movie, I am very disappointed with this Blu Ray, it has no special features new or old, and the picture is not remastered. I should have not had my hopes so high because of the low price it was advertised, and if you don't care about features and remastered picture and sound and you are just looking to buy this movie because you are a fan or just are curious about the film, then you may want to get this.

I didn't grow with the original, And I was full aware of the reviews of this film going in. I blind bought this on 3D Blu Ray just expecting a loud mindless action movie, and that's exactly what I got! The 3D is great and the sound is phenomenal, this is a reference Blu Ray, the movie is gloriously unoriginal and cliche and overtly serious, but if you have the ability to accept all that and are a action fan with a awesome home theater, it's worth checking out. If only there was a Maybe Recommend option...

Can these speakers work effectively if placed next to the front speakers on two cabinents. The current front speakers are placed about 8 feet apart. I realize an atmos receiver must be used.

do you hook these up to the front speaker connections along with the cabinet speakers? or does the atmos capable receiver have another hookup for them?
If you are working with a 7.1 Atmos ready system, then you have to hook these up to the surround left and surround right connectors and place them on top of your front left & front right speakers as a 5.1.2 set up.
