overall i am loving it! 1st its not like the other cheap looking all black plastic constructed laptops. this one is worth showing it off. Has an A8 processor and enough memory for me on the hard drive.
also has a full size keypad that allows me to type comfortably going from a desktop to a laptop all day.

My answer is no, you need to be able to connect the router to the extender by pressing the wps button on both ends.
I tried it at work which the exterder just turnd on red and wont change, i didnt have access to the router. I thought this was just a repeater i am still searching.
