So much more than another teen movie...

I loved this book and the movie was over the top. An amazing cast that turned a horrible situation into a wonderful life. I couldn't get it out of my head for days after reading the book and then weeks after the movie. Not for young children but excellent portrayal of teenagers dealing with the reality of cancer.

I absolutely loved this movie. I was cheering and crying and laughing. It's rare that a movie has so many emotions in it and can still tell a good story.

Really good movie

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Thought it would be the usual "switch places" type movie but it had a little different twist on it. I had not previously seen anything with Zac in it and was a little skeptical, but it turns out he's actually a good actor. It had humor and a good moral story.
It makes you ask the question "If I could go back, would I change anything?" Also, for any of us in school in the 80's it brings back a LOT of memories.

Great family movie

This is an excellent expansion on the Fantasia segment. For anyone looking for a good "Family Night" movie, this one wonderful. Nothing that you have to think too much about and a happy ending. The cinematography puts on an extra good show too. Some of the acting seems a little forced at times, but overall it flows pretty well. Enjoyed this one!
What's great about it: Very good story expansion

Was a great movie with a poignant message

My husband groaned when he saw that I had bought this because of who was on the cover. I'd heard so many different opinions, especially the terrible reviews, that I had to see it for myself. I couldn't believe that the movie could be as bad as everyone says it was.
I'm glad that I didn't listen to any of them! The movie was wonderful and my husband thought so too.
Don't buy the movie because of Robert Pattinson's popularity, but don't discount the movie for that reason either. He's a very good actor and honestly seems to "live" every character he portrays. That is my own opinion.
The message in the movie was incredible. I couldn't catch my breath at the ending and it can have a profound effect on how you see every day things.

Best movie I've seen in years

My family and I have family night on Friday's. This was our pick the weekend after it came out on DVD. We do not go to the movies much so this was our first viewing.
I have to admit, this is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It had something for every movie person. Great action, epic story, romance/love, and visually dynamic. It also showed the need for tradition, family, and a basic respect for life in all forms. Lessons almost every parent tries to teach their children.
We all appreciate that this film was worth watching over again.
This was an instant hit with us, and if they make any type of sequel, I won't hesitate to go watch it on the big screen.

Great Movie

I read the original customer review and decided against buying this movie. I should have trusted my instincts and bought it anyway. I loved it!
The movie has a wonderful story to it, though it is incomplete, and great visual effects to make it "come to life". I had heard from others and reading the original review, made this movie out to be "evil" with them "killing off God" at the end. This is simply untrue. Don't want to spoil too much of the movie but...
This is a fictional FANTASY tale of a parallel world with differences in how things are. In the first lines of the movie says there are many different worlds....some like yours where your souls are on the inside and some like mine...where our souls are on the outside and take other forms....or something like that. The "demon animals" are simply what their world calls their souls. You would not expect words to have the same meaning in a different world...Did none of you watch Lord of the Rings?? And the "girl who does not seem to be disturbed in the end when she helps to kill a great amount of people"....come on...this is the classic story of "good triumphs over evil" and the "people" at the end were created, not real.

I was very pleased with this movie except that the end did not finish the story...maybe they are making sequal...but I do intend to buy it.

Very funny

My husband and I love Jeff. We watched the original special when it came on and it was a little longer than the 2nd airing. Some bad language that we prefer not to let the kids hear, but overall it's still extremely funny and we were pleased that the show they got to see didn't have all that.
After watching for a few minutes you tend to forget that Walter, Peanut and the gang aren't real...which just makes it funnier. This is the only stand up comedy DVD I would ever buy.
What's great about it: Extremely funny
What's not so great: Original show has some really bad language for the kiddies...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Movie

I really enjoyed this movie. I heard a lot of hype about it before going to see it and that it was not recommed for children because of one specific scene (I wont spoil the movie), but I thought it was great. There's a lot of room for expansion but it wasn't too long.
I have a 12yr old stepson who hates to read. He read these books and was so excited when the movie came out. With this movie, he's figured out that the movies almost never does the book justice. That's gotten him reading other stuff.

Do you have "searching movies by true events"?
Searching movies by true events would be great idea for Best Buy. I am your big fan, but sometimes i cannot find movie couse do not know the name, just plot or, maybe, actor and all this results with different searchig help a lot.
I have a suggestion. I've found that I occasionally can not remember (or don't know) the name of a movie. I've found myself looking for a specific actor on www.imdb.com and am usually able to find the movie title that way.
I think it would be a good idea to have different ways of searching titles though, similar to how you would search for a book title.

i've been searching for a movie for years, and i can't seem to find it anywhere. how can i find this movie- Fortress?
This movie has Rachel Ward, Sean Garlick, and Rebecca Rigg in it. It was was made in 1985. It's about four men who kidnap a teacher and her students in the outback.
You can find this on Best Buy's web site actually. I saw this movie also and thought it was wonderful.
I just went to the search at the top and typed in the title.
