It's USB 3.0 port works on some computers and not on others. It does work at a USB 2.0 device on the computers that don't see it as 3.0.
This drive tends to overheat when transferring large amounts of data. With an 8tb hard disk that would be what you would expect to be needed. Backing up with around 6tb of data it reached temperatures of over 51c. Restoring it went over that and on the computer I was using and caused it to forcibly reboot.
If you are not serious about trying to use its capacity it works. But if you want to use it to back/restore up anything over 1tb at a time I would seriously look for something else.
