More Production Value, Still Bluesy

I've been a big fan of "The Black Keys" for years. Their earlier albums are VERY blues-rock, stripped down as much as they could with a guitar and drum kit. "Turn Blue" has a ton more production thrown into each song, with multiple overdubs of Dan playing guitar over himself.

A Solid Middle of the Story

I'm happy Peter Jackson was able to not get too bogged down in the middle section of this story, while pulling from deeper Tolkein writings to flush out the storyline connections between "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings".
