I had the Phantom 2 drone and was very happy with it. The Mavic Pro is a step up in features and is much easier to travel with due to the folding design. Collision avoidance, auto-braking, intelligent flight modes and optical positioning are all welcome new features. Also love the DJI goggles with their head-tracking capability.

If you go away you will no longer exist, making it difficult to use any apps. But if you just leave your house, yes, you can theoretically turn your lights on and off....assuming they are compatible with Alexa.
