Why does the box say up to 100 lbs, and best buy says 120 lbs? Can I mount my 106 lb tv or not?
I would go to Insignia's website. Most of the information on BestBuy.com is accurate. However it called my 8310 an 8130 and I went crazy because I couldn't find that model online(not a wall mount). Does your TV weigh that much even without a stand? Usually there are two spec's for with and without. If you use wall anchors from a hardware size, preferably metal and graded for more weight than you are mounting, not the one's that came with it, but one's that match the screw size and make sure to hit the frame wood, not drywall. The mount will not come off of the wall. However, the brace you attach to the TV is what dictates the second part of the equation. It hooks onto the wall frame you install. My Insignia wall mount is the same as yours. But, my TV is a 55" LED and does not weigh as much as yours. Would I gamble? Go to Insignia's website, they even have installation instructions. After that, it's a tough call. I will not decide for you because you spent the money on obviously a plasma or OLED because regular LED's don't weigh that much. If your mount is product Model: NS-TVMFP23 the website uses best buy's info and says 120lbs, so, I say if it were me, I would mount it with the extra strong anchors.
