Moving Forward in Reverse" is Saliva’s first greatest hits collection, but probably not the last as the band later this year will release their seventh studio album “Under Your Skin”. And I have to say that Saliva is a very, very impressive band with their six album releases in eleven years and with a high quality result every time. Many bands release an album every four years or so, but these gentlemen from Memphis, Tennessee has almost released an album every two years, and that’s huge. And considering how good the songs they delivered over the years, not everyone is included in this collection. But we got of course all of the bands singles plus two "unreleased" tracks in the amazing "Bleed For Me" from the Daredevil soundtrack, and "Time to Shine" that was the official theme song to WWE's 2010 edition of Extreme Rules. Two great extra tracks and that makes this collection pretty desirable for anyone who also has their studio albums. But if you have not heard this awesome band and like tougher modern rock, this is a good introduction, although I think you should get any of their records.

Honestly, it’s easy to trash WWE Studios—I’ve done my fair share of it—but anyone who thinks they churn out truly horrible movies really needs to check out Tommy Wiseau’s The Room or Troll 2 sometime.
At the very least, Vince McMahon’s oft-mocked side-project is providing people in the film and television industry with reliable and well-paying work. That’s no minor thing in this economy.
But, on to The Marine 3: Homefront, the third movie in the military-themed franchise.
The plot is, once again, very by-the-numbers.

It's something that's happened to most of us and it's never very pleasant. I'm talking about friends growing apart. Sometimes people who were once close simply find themselves seeing each other or communicating less and less until the friendship somehow dissolves. I've had similar dissolutions with musical groups such as R.E.M. and U2. There was a time when I would wait with baited breath for their new releases, but as time went on, it got to where I didn't want to hear from them any longer (the new stuff at least). But, one of the most difficult relationships to break was with Metallica. In the late 80s and early 90s, I was a huge Metallica fan, and couldn't wait to hear more from this group. However, with the release of "Load", this devotion ended. Still, as someone who loves music videos, I wasn't against checking out their compilation, Metallica: The Videos 1989-2004.
In the mid 1980s, Metallica's popularity amongst the ranks of heavy metal fans was quickly growing. This band had emerged from the underground metal scene and promised to stick with that mindset. For all intents and purposes, the group stated that they would never release a promotional video and opted instead to release curiosities such as the Cliff 'Em All compilation which contained fan-made concert footage and early appearances. But, things changed in 1989, when the band shocked the world by releasing their first music video for the song "One". This spelled the beginning of the end for many fans. From that point, Metallica became an MTV favorite...well, back when MTV was showing videos.

This DVD is more of a peek at what Metallica was up to during their 'Black Album' days. This record was their first with producer Bob Rock, and it also led them to a new sound, along with a whole bunch of frustration, as seen in the film. Being a big Metallica fan, I found it interesting to see all that the band had gone through to make this amazing album, which ended up as probably their best album to date.

“Blind Rage” has left its mark and once again Accept continues this amazing streak of great releases, which has matched the 80’s releases blow for blow. While I did think it fell just a bit below “Stalingrad” (“Shadow Soldiers” is just unmatched in recent memory), the album proves as good as it gets and easily ranks among the best ever from Accept. As a huge fan that has been privileged enough to have lived in both great eras of this band, I would tell any fan that laments missing out on the classic era of Accept due to accident of birth: you need only buy the latest albums and go see shows now. How often do you get a chance to go back in time? Quick, it won’t last forever!

All of the songs on “Bloodstone & Diamonds” have the trade marks you would expect on any MACHINE HEAD album, but it’s the way they are delivered that is different, almost special. MACHINE HEAD are pushing boundaries and trying to expand their rule. MACHINE HEAD are one of the hardest working bands around; this has become very clear over the years. “Bloodstone & Diamonds” is yet another MACHINE HEAD masterpiece. The final song, “Take me Through The Fire” ends the album in style. It sums up the MACHINE HEAD legacy nicely, leaving a want for more. It shows why MACHINE HEAD should be crowned the new kings of Metal. But, there is something different with “Bloodstone & Diamonds”, you can’t help but feel within these 12 songs there’s a hidden intent, it feels like the “Bloodstone & Diamonds” journey doesn’t end here. It feels like MACHINE HEAD are not finished yet, like there’s more to come, and if this piece of work is anything to go by, god help us all, who knows what is coming! All should bow before the kings of Metal.

Memoirs of a Madman” is a collection of the best songs Osbourne has already released throughout the years, so the album automatically has merit. Osbourne recently won a “Living Legend” award at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards and was inducted into both the UK Music Hall of Fame and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, all of these being solid indicators that critics recognize his talent.

AC/DC’s first album without their founding member is a crisp Brendan O’Brien-produced musical wrecking ball. A few of the rear tracks can’t turn over the ignition on their hooks, and typically, the Pearl Jam and Rage Against The Machine producer has taken a bit too much dirt out from under their fingernails and over-compressed everything so even the mellower cuts stab at your ears like a tattoo machine. But these are minor sins in what must be one of the best records you’ve already heard to be released this year. ‘Dogs Of War’ and the title track are vintage-era good. ‘Play Ball’ is an anthem that feels like it’s slightly cynically been written for that exact purpose – it’s already been picked up by US sports networks to fill in the foam-finger moments at baseball games.
