Frankenstein doesn’t have jump scares like most modern horror films, but the atmosphere created by the director and cast is sufficiently sinister and creepy. The Alex Ross Steelbook is beautiful and a mostly transparent slip cover is included that can protect the Steelbook from damage.
Dracula is quite creepy for a horror film made in 1931. Swan Lake is used as music for the opening credits, but the remainder of the film is without a soundtrack. So, the film doesn’t rely on jump scares implied by music cues like most modern horror. The Steelbook art by Alex Ross is gorgeous and the special features are substantial. The Spanish version that was filmed with a completely different cast is a wonderful feature on this blu-ray.
After seeing a few previews for The Good Place in addition to some snippets from very positive reviews, I decided to give this show a try. The first 6 episodes are quite good and entertaining, however the overall quality goes up in episode 7. This may be the strongest first season I have ever seen for a TV show. Most shows take a while to find their footing, but not The Good Place. Hopefully, the DVD for this show will have great video & audio along with a few special features.
I had never heard of this film until Criterion announced an upcoming release of it early in 2017. Tampopo is a film that's hard to define. The mood can turn from dramatic to comedic suddenly, but that somehow works here. If you are interested in the process of creating food and how everyone appreciates food in their own unique way, give this film a try. The video quality is amazing and the special features are very insightful.
Had a great time watching this on the big screen back in July. The entire cast is great and the editing and music are top notch. This is my second favorite Edgar Wright film behind Scott Pilgrim vs the World. I would give Baby Driver 4.5 stars if possible even though the final act is slightly messy. This film should look great on Blu-ray and will have in depth special features including 2 audio commentaries.
I highly recommend this soundtrack even if you are uncertain if you want to watch the movie Baby Driver. So many Classics and Modern day hits together across 2 CDs. This is great music for a long road trip. It is comparable to the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mixes. Mostly older music that would be considered B sides mixed in with a few A side tracks.
